For something as overblown as the WH universe and "pulp fiction" etc ,it was just such a fucking true moment

Victory 1 is 2 novels and a few short stories. The last 3 books in the series came out years apart, like GRR Martin years.

Another incompetent officer, another meal. Looks like Gaunt's gonna have another officer to execute for incompetence at some point. What I don't get though, is how is there no record of the Vox link where Lugo was instructing Gaunt to ditch caution and go straight to the Citadel? I mean, I get that Gaunt doesn't have Macaroth's favor (and that Macaroth is looking for an excuse) but the vox transcripts should completely exonerate Gaunt in this case.

holy hell Bhavnager. Three tank warfare was amazing and terrifying and completely disorienting to read. I do feel a bit bad for Baffels though. At least he thought he was a hero when he was taken out. I've been looking up different models for the tanks whenever they're introduced. I love that there's a mini for EVERYTHING to help put a picture in your head. The Baneblade is awesome.

There is stuff that doesn't have a mini (stalk tanks, anything mentioned as being made on Urdesh) but there is either art or some awesome fan conversions.

surprisingly abrupt end there. I like that Hark seems to have fallen in line. I don't like that the fate of Bragg isn't revealed. Vambs being the martyr was a bit obvious, but still well played out. The best part of this one for me was the tank combat for sure.

Jumping into The Guns of Tanith tonight. I'll probably break for a book or two after this one.
