Received the PS Publishing newsletter last night, and it included this piece of artwork from one of the volumes of Orb, sceptre, throne. Pretty cool picture!
Didn't we learn in GotM that Moranth Munitions and D'stan don't go together, with all that gas underground... And what colour are those Moranth? Red?

Pink!
No, I'm kidding. Those look like Red Moranth. I was hoping we'd get to hear more about Achievant Twist posthumously, but more Moranth in any form is a good thing. With the Barghast gone from Genabackis, the Moranth probably are expanding their territory some.

I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

Reckon there's a secret monster in the clouds, like the cloverfield monster was in its movie poster?
Oh well.
Guess I was bored enough tonight to say that...

I'm really curious to find out what this Humble Measure/Tyrant business is about.
Here's hoping Kallor kills the Tyrant and becomes the new ruler of Darujistan.

Another contract between Mallick and the Moranth? Another mop up action on a bogged down front?

that's an awesome bit of art and a hell of a teaser too.
After SW, i'm looking fwd to ICE writing some more Moranth action. I totally enjoyed his take on them.

Great 'not this shit again' expression on the gargoyle.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

I love it!
Those are Red Moranth, right? Cool. And they're on quorls, too.

hmmm, one wonders if Torvald of the Nom is reason for the Red Moranth?

I thought only the White Face Barghast were gone. Wouldn't the other clans still be there to contend with the Moranth?
P.S. Awesome Artwork though....can't wait for this book. Really Need a Malazan Fix bad! After I finished TCG in MArch i didn't read another Fantasy book until July. I actually Started reading The Horus Hersey(Warhammer40k) cause wanted to re sci-fi but was sick of the Star wars Expanded universe.

His link was to the Blue, but anything is possible.

Yup, tho with the White Face gone there's likely a gap that the other tribes may be fighting over.
The Moranth are supposedly isolationist and happy in their mountains. That said, mercenary alliances with the ME aside, back in GotM we saw them pursue a nasty grudge against Pale so again anything is possible..
I don't believe we've ever been told that the Moranth had a specific grudge against D'stan.
- Abyss, must point out who cares! RED MORANTH QUORL BOMBING RUN FTW!!!!!

Imagine an entire book chronicling the Moranth. That would be, strange and wonderful.

well didn't Kruppe drop some sort of comments of the amazing gesture that was done by the blue to Torvald and the info was passed on to him by a list of colours, some in jest and some for real, so perhaps as is fast becoming the case for all things, he is a mortal sword of the Moranth or something....

Maybe but the Moranth are fragmented. If they were unified then no with the White Face gone there probably arent enough to contend with them. The Ilgres Barghast are mentioned but there numbers are unknown though they could theoretically contend with a single clan of Moranth. Any Moranth history wouldbe nice tbh.

White Face Barghast = the nation of Barghast on Genebackis, consisting of various clans such as the Ilgres. So nope, they all went.

Aw man, I was hoping they were Power Rangers!
Got to say, I am really looking forward to this book, can't wait to see what freaky shenanigans Torvald gets into - he better be in this book goddammit!
And Seguleh... Seguleh!
