Hopefully this goes in the right thread. :-)
I know this will probably not be answered for a long while (since we're all eagerly awaiting Dust of Dreams), but I thought I'd ask anyway;
Would it be possible to do an email interview with you at some time?
That's it. :-)

Why not post your questions? SE does visit and you might get lucky that way. There's very little chance of him responding to this post, so why not test us? We may or may not have your answers but I can guarantee that we will encourage you to come up with better questions

That's a good idea, I'll try posting the questions, thanks. :-) Do I post them in this thread?

One of themes I've noticed the most in the Malazan series is the idea that certainty is a poison. It was especially evident in Midnight Tides (loved the philosophy of that book btw) and subsequent entries in the series. My question to Mr. Erikson is - is this something you added to your books because you see it becoming more and more prevalent in society today? With religion (and the certainty that often comes with it) being such a hot topic today, is this an endorsement for the world to be a little more agnostic?
The other theme I find over and over is the idea that we all know history but are doomed to forever repeat our mistakes. We're sort of helpless against it. Along the same lines as my first question, did you include this as any sort of a reflection upon the path our leaders take us down today?

Erm, this might be a good time to ask this, but this is the third topic I've seen here that's a question directed towards Steven Erikson himself, but I don't see how he answers these questions? He doesn't post on the forums right? Unless Im wrong maybe it's smart to change this forum's description?
For you Sucka:
There's some topics with interview questions, maybe a better bet is to post this there.

Erikson does read the forums. How much reading he does is anyones guess, but not that much is probably a good guess.
In the past he's responded a couple of times but now a days if he feels a need to clarify on a subject or wants to answer a couple of questions, he's been communicating via our admins Mal or Hetan.
Asking questions directed at Erikson here is probably not going to help you. Allthough perhaps it's time again to try to make a list of questions... this time perhaps directed at both SE and ICE.

Ah, thanks for the input. I was going off:
"Any questions that you may have for SE himself can be posted here. "
In the past I asked a question about what music he listens to when he writes and he answered through one of the admins. Thought i'd give it another shot because I've always wondered about his world view.
