FUCKING FUCK.

Well that was fun. I'm making this post before I read through spoilers, so here's my take on the game without any influence from the spoilers:

Awesomely fun game, super complicated and I was (admittedly) overwhelmed.

I tried to vaguely out Tennes and Barg, as I was relatively sure they weren't recruited.

I probably should have tried harder to keep Tennes from knowing I was recruited, but I was trying to signal to other recruits.. bah. Not a big deal, I guess.

I tried to cause as much havoc as I could, I tried to get people to fucking vote me with my random accusations and crazy changes in opinions/going after every faction. But apparently I'm too pretty.

Any old timers around here, did I do alright for my second game?

Tell me what I fucked up, teach me your ways.

Catching up now.

Edit: Just read previous post. HP KILLED ME THEN GOT RECRUITED. That motherfucker.

@ JLV

Haha, yeah, HP killing you was quite funny ;)

I think you and Barghy have both done a great job, intentional or otherwise, of linking Karosis and Emurlahn together. It means once they lynch one of them the other is almost certain to follow, and we need both of them dead.

On a different note, I was quite incredulous when reading the ridiculous lynching of Ruse. On the one hand, there's holding your cards close to your chest, on the other, there's wilful blindness, and that's what the Ruse train was. It was possible for EVERYONE to work out that Ruse and Thyrllan were both Lu faction. They need to be killing barbarians and/or getting the Usurper, and yet they go for one of the people they can easily work out is not either.

If I had still been alive and playing, there is no way I wouldn't have just come out and pointed that out, fuck the consequences. And then several had the gall to come on after the lynch and say, "Oh look, Ruse was Lu, well I knew that would happen". Yeah, you all clearly knew that would happen, and yet you still went through with it!!! Why?!

Poor Shinrei, his lonely adventures come to a depressing end.

Nobody seemed to even notice you weren't a veteren player with dozens of games under your belt, so obviously you did great!

re: HP killing you and then getting recruited, best part is he still has no idea you were a Jin, either.

Ah gods, this Emur-Barg back and forth where they're assuming all Emperors and all PMs have the same abilities between factions is delightful!

You win when only Jin players (secret or not) are alive and everyone else is dead. Doesn't matter how that happens, whether Sima Yi becomes Emperor or not, etc etc. You won't win by any other method.

Okay. I'm glad I got that straightened out. I may be forced to lynch Telas and I didn't want that to inpact y winnng conditions.

but, i'm letting HP counter. if he fails, well than dkt is the last xia.

Okay so I'm about halfway through, and I'd like to note a few things.

Didn't realize how difficult a job Telas had with recruiting. I REALLY should have used my notice ability to better advantage.

I didn't understand how the cult worked well, either. Bah, Humbug,

The fuck is going on in there? Has the game finally gone full retard?
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

I've got to say, I think Mentalist has played an absolute blinder so far. He escaped my attack on him Day 1, he escaped the pressure on him Day 3, and he's lead his faction to a position where he can discuss his role openly on thread without the threat of being lynched. Pretty well done, I must say. Not sure it's going to be enough to win it for the Xia though.

Depressing end for the Lu dynasty. But I think we were always in trouble once Sorrit got that find on Osseric way back when.

Now, a lot rests on whether Sima Yi can recruit Korlat tonight. I think that ought to be enough to put the Jin over the top and get them the win. There are only 4 loyal 3 Kingdoms players left, so a Jin faction of 4 should be able to overpower them (especially since I think Ment has given enough away that the other teams will now know to guard/kill him in the night). A faction of 3, on the other hand, is going to be in trouble, since Telas is going to work hard to ensure that he doesn't get himself lynched. HP might have given the game away with his "Why Telas?" comment earlier, if people actually take a look at it. I did love HP's hesitation when Emurlahn said "I'm either going to lynch you, or if you prove to me that you are Xia, Telas." Pretty tough spot he was in there ;). If they manage to keep lynching Ma Chao rebels during though, then I think the Jin have this won. So I think today is crunch day (even if it takes another few days to actually play itself out).

Quick note to JLV: awesome game, very well played - especially since this is only what, your second or third game? If you did anything wrong, it was perhaps that you were slightly too eager at times where sitting back and watching things unfold was more prudent, and I think that got you killed (that, and me dropping my kill-block).

Note to KL: sorry for my harsh words in PM, they were caused by me thinking they came from Tennes - if you were baiting me for info, you did an awesome job! Well played, too - never was sure of your alignment, which is rule nr 1 of faction mafia.

Note to SH: I'm a dumb prick for going all-in. That's all. I usually manage to make mistakes of a slightly lower magnitude, but alas... I'm outed as PM, and Emur has us doubting who is his. Not good.

Atrahal was military officer.
could have been healing kessoh.

Korlat, on 18 October 2011 - 09:24 PM, said:

I've tried twice to kill him yeah

Looks like the net is closing in on us slightly since people are starting to reveal.

I have it on atrahal at the minute but I can change if we have the time, kess again or emur himself though I think they are protected in some way.

But oh shit emur has worked it out fuck, we really didn't have any advantages in this at alll did we?

Awesome game! I had fun, despite feeling very in the dark without Osseric.

I'm not entirely sure why non-kingdoms people liked me as a lynch rather than a potential emperor in Tennes.

I'm happy that I had figured out correctly who was on my team, but I'm curious as to how we (the Lu) could have been more collaborative after our Emperor died? I'm referring to an earlier post by D'rek.

So did my last move get me into range for NA's or not? And who sent out that retarded notice about me? Any veteran players who fell for that (without a good reason) should get their ears boxed.
You’ve never heard of the Silanda? … It’s the ship that made the Warren of Telas run in less than 12 parsecs.

Concrete predictions:

- If Telas recruits successfully tonight (has to be Korlat, I think), then the Jin win.
- If Telas fails but one of Emurlahn/Kessobahn die in the night, the Jin win.
- Otherwise, it's a draw between the Yan and the Xia.

I think the White Riders are down and out unless they can somehow get rid of Emurlahn, Tennes and Telas before one of them gets killed/recruited (unlikely, IMO), and the Ma Chao are dead by virtue of being outnumbered by the group in Luo Yang. When in doubt, they're going to be lynched and there's not much they can do about it (the Jin are going to be pushing for it, for starters...be interesting to see whether that outs them to Emurlahn et al.)

Oh wait. For some reason I thought Silanah was still alive (despite JLV's posts in SH). This means it is less likely that the Jin win. It's funny that after the Kaschan lynch the game will actually be split 2v2v2v2v2 between all the factions. It feels like the Kingdoms are still in control because of their voting block, but if the non-Kingdoms players get their act together and break it up (which they should be trying their hardest to do at this point, IMO), then they're actually in very strong positions here.

I think Okaros should take a gamble and sell his vote to a willing team while he and SL move to Chang An. Prevailing opinion on thread is that the Ma Chao are a two man faction (silly people assuming symmetry!). I reckon if he tried to make a bargain with the Xia to lynch Barghast/Tennes, for example, it would work. They'd get the votes of Emurlahn, Kessobahn, Okaros, Hood's Path (who has to follow his ex-Emperor's lead), Karosis (who is still clinging to the idea that he might be Xia) and probably Korlat too. This would also make it less likely that people associate SL with his faction, which might work out in his favour in the long run.

Agree entirely. Ever since his epic "Osseric and Meanas and Silanah and half a dozen others are all linked to each other" post, Ment's been head and shoulders above everyone else. I still hope he doesn't win though ;)

I think the way the game's panned out has been fantastic. Although some have smaller chances than others, every faction's still got a shot at winning (unless you're Lu, sorry guys!).
