Hullo all. 3 votes on someone already, now isn;t that a weird, weird thing for so early day 1? Are we that glad to provide Morghy with a co-mod?

@ Anthras: I wouldn't read too much in D'riss asking the same question you did. We all love to be the one to be the first with the bright idea and sometimes the only way to have that Eureka! moment is by ignoring others who had it before you did. Moreoever, the more people say the same thing, the more there is a chance it gets listened to.
So, don't get your panties in a bunch, right now, you seem like a real eager kid who wants a sweet for being the smart one.

Unless............... the thing about it that got you all hot and bothered is that you read it as a very open symping attempt by D'riss through parroting, and you fear we'll find out, so you distance by calling it into question? If that's the case, wow, I'm gooooooooooood at this game.

Good to see we skipped most of the regular day 1 RP, though.

Barghast out for now, again.

Though I appreciate the support... Now it looks like you are symping me.

I play at work. I post when I can, I happened to start my response, get pulled away, then finished it. Anth, just had the same, and logical, question I had. Why vote the symp rather than the sympee.

Oh, I am symping no-one. I merely thought Anthras was acting like a petulant child, so I threw out that he was overthinking.

Quote

It kinda seems that way, doesn't it?
I mentioned both you and Silanah - yet Barghast only commented on the parts I mentioned about you.

Now I get thrown at me that I ignore other parts, so @ Anthras: go fuck yourself.
I'm not here to write books on RP (that I skipped, I'll wait for content instead of watching people inflate their post count), nor am I here to provide my detailed analysis of everything that has gone by, including stuff I don't deem significant. Instead, I made a comment on something in your post that I thought was a rather regular occurance and your reaction rather petulant. I could dissect that entire post, but before we know it, you'd put your groceries shopping list on thread and I'd be commenting on your shopping list and asking if you went for Heinz extra spicy Ketchup or Regular.

Instead, I'll stick to what my pea sized brain can process and to what to me are interesting and potentially interesting situations. You throwing a tantrum over D'riss was to me more interesting than some RP conclusion (of a page 1 that I skimmed) so I chose to answer that.

There is a CF. The CF will reveal whether a player is an innocent or a cultist, and the identity of the player.

Underlined parts.
Yes, this might be a regular M&P game, yes, you might say there is no <cult> or what so ever
Yet, it's "Call of Cthulhu" themed, and Call of Cthulhu is ALL about cultists, Lovecraft's work is all over cults and cultists, so regardless what you say, even after I see the spoilers thread and everything is revealed and there is no "cult" in there - I'll still believe that there was supposed to be a cult, but something happened.
It's like mandatory to have a cult in a themed game like that. Yet, anyone recalls standard M&P games having cults in them?

I don't think that was a slip-up, but probably it's meant to be scum=cultists , in the above quoted post , yet I'd rather be prepared for the worst than believe otherwise and be surprised.
16 player M&P game :: Paired killers - two symps? Four-scum overall, or a combo of such, at least?
Thoughts?

when the mod says it's m&p then it's m&p. don't start trying to confuse people. cult is the flaver of scum for this particular game not the type of scum. scum will be killers and symps. it also looks like there could be guards, healers and finders.

This.

in regards to cultists, the fact that Morghy went out of his way to say that the CF will differentiate cult vs. normal players leads me to think there has to be a cult.

So, what do you think?
Town vs Cult game?
Town vs Scum vs Cult game? Three faction game isn't the definition of M&P one though, is it?

Let's hope PS can shed some light into this.

My guess is town vs. cult ( 1 leader to start) vs. killer (either paired killers or 1 killer and 1/2 symp). It can still be M&P as long as it's all basic. Like 1 kill for the killers per night, 1 recruit per night. and very basic town roles.

i disagree. cult is higher tdmi than m&p. only basic roles fall into the m&p description. if truth be told i thought there were no roles other than a killer in a m&p game but i think the definition of m&p has morphed into basic roles for town and standard killer/symp roles for scum. if there turns out to be a cult then the mod lied that this is a m&p game.

i was going to vote for you based on that i thought you were deliberately trying to confuse people with the whole cult thing but you are right in that ps does state that cfs will mention who is or isn't cult. i still stand by what i said earlier and that "cult" means standard scum and not "cult" in the classic mafia sense. i did a quick search on the wiki and the name of the inn lead me on a merry chase to a kraken. my guess is that scum in this game are memebers of a cult of the kraken and people that die at night will be offered as sacrifices to the kraken and not recruited to the cult.

so i'm going to go hunker down into my booth with my hat hook stand as my weapon of choice and pray i don't fall asleep at night to be carried off to be feed to the beast of the deep.

There's 27 hours and 20 minutes left of the day.

Players still alive: Barghast, Sorrit, Osseric, Anthras, Kalse, Karatallid, Silanah, Korlat, Thyrllan, Telas, Shadow, Galain, Fener, Emurlahn, D'riss, Tulas Shorn.

9 votes to lynch.
8 votes to go to night.

1 vote for Galain (Kalse)
1 vote for Kalse (Osseric)
3 votes for Osseric (Shadow, Galain, Korlat)
1 vote for Fener (Sorrit)

Players that have yet to vote: Barghast, Anthras, Karatallid, Silanah, Thyrllan, Telas, Fener, Emurlahn, D'riss, Tulas Shorn.

This a M & P games, which to my knowledge has always meant a killer vs inno, basic roles sort of game. A cult is an exotic role as is the FM and so on. A cultist is however the fitting identity for a killer role in a Lovecraftian game.
Only someone with this much power could make this many frittatas without breaking any eggs.

ok, well that makes sense then. There isn't a Cult per se, but the Killers are part of a cult.

What made you choose Kara?

There are any number of people that hopped on, made 1 post and then bolted. (Telas, Korlat, Thyr, Sorrit) Considering that your initial want was to vote for someone who had no votes, and there is someone that fits that criteria, yet you choose someone who's description is fit by at least 4 other players... this vote looks like signaling to me.

vote karatallid.

i'd like to see where this leads.

I was going to point this out too. I found it weird that Anthras jumped on D'riss for agreeing with him and accused me of "skimping" less than an hour after my first post when we have players like Karatallid who have only made one post early on, some who hadn't even posted yet (Barghast, Fener (who still hasn't posted)), and then Korlat whose only post so far was a vote with little explanation.

So you are voting Osseric because he looks like he is symping you?

Ill bite

Vote Osseric

So I find Korlat and Karatallid semi-suspicious. It's possible Fener just hasn't got a chance to play yet; happens a lot on day one. About Osseric:

This is what i've been waiting for.

Osseric you sound excited about this.
Either you're deranged, or an M.
Or...

I am about the game but not about the "Inn of Death", it sounds like a Demon Inn, something to do with Galain...

This is the post where it looks like he's symping Galain. At first glance I thought this was pretty harmless, only a few people had posted at the time, and he's not actually defending Galain or really even commenting on his posts. In fact the post is kinda odd, what is Osseric even saying here? Seems like a joke about the setup, but why put Galain's name out there at all? I can definitely see this as signaling, which I'm sure is what drew the votes out.

Not sure what to make of everything right now but I'll be around.

@ D'riss - You say TS' vote looks like signalling then you vote the same way. The only way someone should know any IDs is if they are on scum team at this early stage.

I like this day 1, so far. There is stuff happening and a lot of it is causing waves and causing reactions. Finally, for a change, a day 1 lynch does not seem to be entirely random, which is kind of cool :p Anyway, I'm out for the night, plenty of time tomorrow to decide who to vote, but it seems natural that there are a few front runners at the moment.

Sigh...When did voting for your boss ever become a sign of potential signalling anyways?
i have never bought into that way of playing or thinking.

if i where a killer and someone voted for me i wouldn't automatically start thinking he could be signalling.
And if i where a symp i wouldnt be going around voting for my boss... might actually alienate your killer by mistake somehow.

anyways... thats beside the point here.

I cant really defend against someones random vote on me while i was away busy...just a pity it ended up on me i guess.

meh
