I seem to have found a 'sweet spot' with the FOV setting, locked 60fps, distance sat from screen, and use of a controller instead of mouse and keyboard. Five or six hours played in co-op over the weekend and no sign of motion sickness. Fingers crossed, as we were really enjoying it.

Nice! Borderlands 2 is such a fun game. And is probably the best at interjecting humor into a game. Who didn't laugh the first time they made a Goliath rage? That's one example, but the humor is also key in the telling of the main story.

BTW guys, before Boderlands 3 comes out you should play Tales from the Borderlands. I know for some of you the Telltale Games style is not your thing, but there is an important event that occurs that will probably have an impact on Boderlands 3. It's nothing major and you can still play BL3, but if your a completionist when it comes to Borderland lore, then you should not miss what happens in Tales from the Borderlands.

Wow, some messy news coming out of Gearbox. I sure hope the rumors are not true. I remember seeing Randy Pitchford on the G4 network all those years ago and he came across as a funny and stand up kind of guy.

Maybe Borderlands 3 will not be happening now. What do you vault hunters think? yes? no? meh?

I second this recommendation, but not for any lore reason. You should play Tales from the Borderlands because it is a really good game, and by far my favourite Telltale offering. It is hilarious, and the choices you make actually have a final payoff.

Yeah, I read about this, but actually Pitchford (and Gearbox generally under him) always struck me as somewhat shady, and their buck-passing and attempt to solely shift the blame to others for the travesties of Aliens Colonial Marines and Duke Nukem Forever. There’s a sense that they got lucky with the Borderlands formula.

Duke Nukem was never going to be good. Gearbox bought the project and released it with little. More than some duck tape added. I've always thought fans should praise them for getting the game released.

What's annoying is that they now own the IP and have done very little with Duke.

Also, didn't Battleborn shit the bed? And didn't Overwatch bitch slap it sideways into next week? Although there's been arguments that the titles are not the same genre, so shouldn't be compared (haven't played and don't know much about the two titles myself). Also, could it be argued the effort devoted to (and failure of) Battleborn is one component contributing to the perfect shit storm convergence of BL3 taking so long (and/or not happening)? Agree? yes? no? meh?

The case between Sega and Gearbox over Aliens Colonial Marines, in which Pitchford in particular is accused of managing the creation and marketing of demos of ACM which looked nothing like the finished product without Sega’s approval:

https://www.google.c...olonial-marines

Gearbox’s counterclaim - that Sega as publisher was responsible for marketing - is weak considering the fact that Gearbox, as developers, made those misleading demos.

And then they - or rather, Pitchford - according to a whistleblower, handed over large portions of development to another studio, Timegate, without actually telling Sega. Timegate had to work from scratch either because they could not legally use Gearbox’s work, or, so the rumour goes, because Gearbox’s work up to that point was nigh unusable. A Timegate employee, on the other hand, reported that they did around 50% of the work on ACM.

The other accusation thrown Pitchford’s way is that he used the ACM money to fund Borderlands 2 and Duke Nukem instead, but I don’t think that ever became any more solid than the whistleblower accusation. But this comes from the fact that Gearbox claimed they had to finish ACM using their own money...money generated from the profits of Borderlands 2, which may or may not have been developed using ACM-intended money from Sega.

Related: Me and my bois took on the Invincible Empyrean last night and won. Level 28, 3 players. Me as tank-spec Athena, one mate as medic Claptrap, and the other as a hybrid Nisha.

It got a little sweaty towards the end - Clap's high fives and my team health regen during Aspis were pretty mega for that fight. It also helped that I have a ludicrously damaging MIRV so that if I spam that against the boss, chances are if I go down, it'll kill some adds. Wew.

I'm sure you can relax. Randy is teasing 3 (so far) new games for PAX.

Though some of them might be ports.

Could somebody edit the title so this becomes a Borderlands series thread?

Slow Ben go back to the OP and rename the thread "The Borderlands Series" or something similarly accurate.
