My Biggest Regret What are you going to miss most?

A tad ramble...
I've been putting off my reread of tCG for a while now... And now after I have thought about it, probably because I think the first time round... after I'd finished... it had taken so much out of me... drained me... but in an awesome way of course!
Anyway...
I finally got around to it and devoured this delightful book again, loving every moment... but it was whilst reading Tehol's letter to Brys that it finally hit me I guess... that it could by the last time I get to read new stories about this absolute brilliant character... Tehol. I also believe this is what made me realise that he is my favourite character in the series...
And that was what also made me realise that I was gutted... that it was my biggest regret... no more new Beddicts and Bug... wiveys included (maybe SE... bribe yesssss?!?!?!)
So... That was only one... but there are so many more...out of the series and characters, what are you going to miss witnessing?

Udinaas. I'm not joking, I really will be missing Udinaas. Already am, actually.

Certainly Tehol. He is my favourite comedic character, far above even the almighty Kruppe. Im not going to miss the Lether continent that's for sure. I dont know, nothing else comes to mind at the moment. Plus one never knows with SE, anything or anyone might reappear at any point so im not too bummed out about anything.

Udinaas, definetly. Throatslitter, dunno why:) Tool... because in my heart Im big romantic pussy and I want to see him happy...maybe slashing some stupid guys to pieces...
Tulas Shorn (hell, such good char and he has to leave!) and of course QB... but, hey... I dont believe he is off the chart...

Yah, if only you could hear Throatslitter's laugh one more time...

While not my favourite favorite characters, I think I'll miss Toc and Tool (and their relationship) the most.
For a minor character definitely Deadsmell,I really liked him.

So much, really.
The Bonehunters, especially. I found them incredibly entertaining (both in sombre moments and amusing ones) to read about.

Laseen did nothing wrong.

Definitely the Bonehunters. From the book named after them onwards, I have loved that army. While other people complained about the amount of time given over to the marines and heavies, I loved every section with them in it. All their relationships, their histories and personalities. I loved them all (except Blistig, who I loved to hate).
I have to second Udinaas too. I had hoped he would have a larger role in tCG. Maybe there will be a book about him, the Imass, Hetan, Rud, Seren Pedac and Trull's son. I would love to read that.
Also .... on an unrelated ..... note ..... random ellipses ....... are really ..... annoying.

I am pleased with the amount of love Udinaas gets. So far he rarely got any at all in these kinds of threads or discussions.

The Tehol Bugg combo are brilliant bt one ive missed for a while is WJ and his conversations with his old squad and Dujek. You forget the level of familiarity they bring to MOI but it becomes distorted by their ascension.

Sam here. I loved the whole part where he explained how necromancy was a sort of fight between life and death, to steal away souls from Hood. Deadsmell ruled

Other minor character I'll miss (mainly because he's dead anyway) is Beak. He was imo one of the most brilliant characters in the series, and the beauty of it all was he was the only one who never noticed it.
As for bigger parts of the story I'll miss the whole old-empire references (with old empire being the one founded by Kelly). I loved the way that huge empire was created by those, by now, incredibly legendary people. And they were all very legendary, even though practically nobody really knew them at all. I'm hoping one day a more explanatory story will come out, telling us about how that first empire was formed and tells us the story up to the Night of Knives, what really happened (because I still refuse to believe Surly didn't know anything about Kelly and Dancer's real plans... In fact I still believe she did something similar in RotCG herself)
But most I'll miss Darujhistan with Kruppe and Baruk and all the others. Luckily there's a Darujhistan novel on the horizon

I want more Laseen. ( I know, I've read all the books) I love that bitch. I think she is also Reileen Kawahara from "Altered Carbon".

It's got to be Tavore. And not knowing more about her. Everything about her (and by loose extension, everything about House Paran, including Ganoes and Felisin), even though that's not possible and will never happen. And that being the beauty of her character.

Yeah, weird, but even through the books this happens. I miss the Fiddler from DG, Paran from MoI, Karsa from HoC, Trull, Onrack, Udinaas, Murillio from GotM, Apsalar from RG, Itkovian from MoI, Gruntle from MoI, Cotillion from RG, Mappo for DG/BH, Cutter from BH, Duiker frmo DG, Kalam from BH/RG, Quick from MoI, Tehol & Bugg...
Tha characters changed as the books went along, and I missed aspects of them in later books (e.g. Quick as a squad mage seemed to be able to get into a lot more mischief).

Though it's hard to draw favourites; I will miss Shadowthrone and Cotillion the most - Thinky-Thinky-Catchy-Monkey + Sneaky-Swifty-Choppy-Choppy... They were the scene's that I consistently looked forward to, and always got a pang of excitement when they appeared.
Twas a close run thing though, such a rich cast.

Edgewalker and Cotillon's discussions always got the neckhairs raised.
I'm also hoping we see more on Icarium; we got "teased" with a hint that he might go apocalyptic at the end of TCG, but Ublala cut that off. I'd like some actual resolution to his story, not a vague "I have remembered something" from seeing Ublala toying with a potsherd. The way I figure it, Gothos is one of the most interesting and to date underused characters in the series, and he'll probably figure prominently somewhere down the road, so there's potential Icarium may become involved again too.

I doubt it. The 'I remember something' bit circles nicely back to DG and has a 'the search begins anew' ring to it, like it or not [I'm torn on it, personally, as I'm not a fan of Ublala but think that it's a fitting 'end' to Icarium's storylone]. Also, Gothos doesn't give a shit what happens to his offspring, there's no real connection between him and Icarium these days.

hey you never know. gothos was last seen in genebackis, where karsa orlong is about to raise some almighty hell methinks. now he can obviously be anywhere he wants to, azath jumping bastard (reminds me of hoid), but it's very possible he'll feature in one of the toblakai novels. same goes for icarium. he's half toblakai after all.
There's a fine line between genius and insanity. I have erased this line.
