Having the finders clear players who we think are innocent is the only way to know for sure they are in fact innocent. I don't want to focus lynching players when we are so far off that the real scum is hiding in the presumed innocent pool. I'm back to the you only get 5 strikes and you are out aspect of the game. But whatever.

I switched my vote from night because I thought that we were still 2 votes short of actually getting a night vote

remove vote

vote night

On the off chance that we actually didn't get a night vote and PS is sitting back laughing at us for not getting the correct number of votes needed for an action.

I'm just curious - do you understand that someone can only be "innocent" until MH dies?

That is the whole basis for my suggestion of voting night. Trying to play like "normal" is why we are in this clusterfuck of a mess to begin with. Looking at peoples past posts after we find MH is pointless. We are back to day 1 spam all over again. That way if we install a strategy that can bypass some of it why wouldn't we?
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

Next question - assuming that the night vote went through, what do you propose we should do if MH is killed by a find tonight?

I propose that we have the finders put out finds on 2 people and everyone then votes night. Then we have the finders put out finds on 1-2 other people and then have everyonee vote night again. Then the next day from the not innocent group we start lynching people. If the first person lynched isn't MH then that night DON'T have the finders put a find out on the remaining pool of players. The next day we lynch somebody else. If that still doesn't hit MH then that night the Finders DO NOTHING again and the next day we lynch a third time. At that point if we still get it wrong I say we still lynch because using a finder kill with such a small pool of players would be a waste of a needed lynch.

My strategy will run the risk of the finders hitting MH at night by accident. That is okay because just like lynching there is a chance that you lose players that are not MH but there are enough FK that you can run the risk of using a few on accident but still keep the finders safe from recruitment.

No... no, no, no. An FK cannot make us "lose" anyone who is not MH. Using FKs are not "just like lynching".

Second...a "few" FKs are all we can use. BCS, we can lynch wrong 5 times and win. FIVE. But we can only use 2 FKs. TWO. I guess we should all learn some math? And then vote for twelve. TWELVE. ;)

Edit: added the words "two" and "twelve" for clever parallelism

Your strategy sounds rather risky. Keeping using the finders and hoping they don't hit MH is the kind of thing I would consider if we were really doing badly. At this stage, it is a bad strategy.

Lynching MH is going to be harder than FKing him. That means, at the point where the next lynch MUST be correct or we lose, we don't want to be lynching at all. We want to have lynched all we need to have by then. That gives us a win. If we use the FKs earlier, we get fewer lynches before we hit this point.

Each find risks wasting a potential lynch prior to D-day. This is a risk that the finders should be extremely wary of. I would advise them to find only when it could really help us. The biggest help it can really be early in the game, is to stop us wasting a lynch. The only situation this will occur in is if someone is likely to be lynched next day(no point risking it if the person isn't getting heat). Then they are running a rather large risk. If they think the person is not MH, they could find him. If they are right, we don't waste a lynch. If they are wrong, they waste a FK(and thus a lynch before D-day). Large risk, and probably not worth it most of the time. Comes down to how sure the FK is though.

Edit: Aimed at Twelve

Sigh.

Helen I feel for you girl.

This is probably partially my fault. I've never been very good at explaining and I am still confusing people with my vision for this game. At this point I'm backing off of voting for night and will leave the finders to their own devices. What do the rest of you want to do to proceed with our search?
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

Sorry about that everyone, I had a bit of a family urgency that turned into nothing and it prevented me from getting on yesterday. I'll now resolve.

Well, unless Tat lied or changed his find, HO is in the clear.

Well, I said I would wait for Tattersail to give us the scoop, but since we still don't have a MH hit, I think I'm just going to lay down the:

VOTE SHINREI

And carry on from there. After the clusterfuck that was this weekend (could have gone faster if (a) people had just voted night FFS and (b ) the other finder revealed so we could at least have another person of the potentials for lynching list) I just want to see some movement.

And if that means lynching, let's get it done. I got my way, so now let's carry on with the strategy and begin hunting down MH.

And my sympathies P-S. No worries.

Edit: correcting stupid sunglasses emoticon usurping my (b ) and deleted stupid double post from when my fucking internet crashed, again.

Well, I say we see what Tat has to say about his latest find, hope to the gods that the other finder reveals and let's us know who else is in the clear, and then vote. I am surprised that Shin hasn't shown up despite all this action. I plan to vote for either Shin, who is really suspicious, or twelve, who is undermining the attempt to approach this game carefully and thoroughly.

Seriously dude, first of all I had a weekend. Sorry I wasn't around now wait, I'm not sorry at all.

And "all this action" happened while I was in bed (my timezone does this to me). When I went to bed, there were still only a couple of posts beyond the last post I had made.

Unless a finder says they did their find on me, I'm fine if this is what people want for narrowing the lynch pool.

Vote Shinrei

Moving forward is not voting for night. Sir you are following and making next to no attempt to lead. Personally If it was me I would vote for every single person in this game who has voted for night. Of course if it was up to me I would be a unstopable Predator with unlimited night and day kills and 2 lynch proofs and 3 BP's, and you would all be dead. But then I'm a patient person.

Kurt, Roldom, Shinrei, or Venge (as a left-field choice) are my usual suspects for the lynch. Shinrei said earlier he would be willing to self-vote to get the game moving, which I always found a fairly unhelpful thing to say if you truly are inno (sorry Shin), because it casts unneeded doubt on the lynch without the person in question even having attempted to defend themselves from it. You can see a scum saying something like that in order to convince us he's just a self-sacrificing inno (in which case, there's no point in lynching them), but when a real inno says it, it just robs me of the pleasure of the lynch, as I go into it with the gloomy belief that I'm lynching an inno. If you're inno, and find yourself a target, defend yourself man (or woman)!

Sorry, that turned into a real meandering diatribe.

We've got Ment, Gust, and HO pronounced inno - and hopefully the second finder knows of another three innos (I'm going to guess that one of those finds was used on Tattersail), so they'll be zeroing in on MH.

Vote Shinrei

But I'm happy to vote for any of the four I mentioned.

Where's the sense in this Venge? If Tat did an Find on HO, he's been cleared (note how there are still 12 of us unfortunately). So you are basically voting off a known inno (or hey symp since we never seemed to settle on a Symp's existence or not) instead of taking a whack at MH. Care to elaborate other than your narrow views of voting night?

I would never ever self-vote in a game of a different set up, for the very reasons you have stated above. But in this game, the setup makes it more about playing a formula to give town the best chance of winning - and that doesn't exist in the same way in other 'normal' town vs. scum games. In this game, it makes sense as a move to help my team eventually win.

If you have a problem with all this, take it up with the monkeys.

I'm off to work, and will vote for another candidate if there appears to be one since I know I'm innocent. (goes without saying)

Too bad Gust Hubb has been searched, otherwise I'd vote for him in a heartbeat.
