So not happy with the cover. And the Coltaine bit, it's cool and should be the cover over that generic chick. What they should have made the cover of was the last stand!! I mean, Coltaine in his feather cloak, Bult, the dogs, the awesome guideons of the 7th and Crow clan, Mincer and the Marines!!!! Come on!!!
HAIL THE MARINES!

Did you guys see the original Lettered cover Sha'ik/Apsalar/Lostara art is on the inner cover for the limited...as is this one of Mappo and Icarium:

Pssst....is Mappo wearing a 1980's cutoff/frayed Jean vest?

There's yet another picture up on the SP site:

Looks pretty cool, I think. That scene is certainly a great choice.
We might not be free, but we sure are cheap.

That's a great piece. Now if only they'd ship out the book instead of just showing us the artwork.

Agreed. Great art and they always make a good book. But it is starting to take a little while. At this rate I'm worried I'll die of old age before the whole series gets published and I'm only 30 something.

Well, with any luck Bonehunters is already under production if they're staggering artists. I'm not sure if they're gonna go back to Komarck or not for the 3rd, but one can hope.

Just got an update from Sub Press regarding its release date:

Quote

Hi.

The art is still in process. We're hoping to publish in the spring.

Best,

Bill

Start placing your bets on which will take longer: Sub Press completing this series, or GRRM completing his.

Gotta say I love this artwork. From the images I've seen online, Komarck's stuff had a very sketchy quality that rubbed me wrong. This is quality stuff.
"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"

Liking the Coltaine cover a lot, not quite as much as the regular desert scene one,but its a vast improvment from the Felisin one. Does anyone else think that Mappo and Icarium look a little too much alike. Last I remeber Jhag's and Trells were quite different? I do hope MOI comes out sooner though, a 4-5 year gap is a bit lengthy.

I like this. I don't know what I'd do if sentient bees came after me. I think i'd arm myself with a few newspapers or hand shovels, even then there'd BEE too many of them!!

These are great paintings.

Can you imagine the incomprehensible spittings of drunk Mappo & Iccy around the fire, bellowing around all those tusks? In the books they converse like scholars, but one would need a translator to participate.
HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. I started the train on you so many many hours ago, and now I'm going to finish it. Die HO. Die. This is for last time, and this is for this game too. This is for all the people who died to your backstabbing, treacherous, "I sure don't know what's going on around here" filthy lying, deceitful ways. You son of a bitch. Whatever happens, this is justice. For me, this is justice. Vote HiddenOne Finally, I am at peace.

I still don't like the cover, even the new one, for this pricey edition. The original US 1st Edition was better. Some of the interiors are cool though. The Subterranean version of Gardens of the Moon had a wicked cover!

Agreed, the original one with the riders in the sandstorm was my favorite. no wonder its the only cover which is identical for both the US and UK versions.

Just got an email from Sub Press saying that DG has been sent to the printer! Does anyone know how long this might take? Anyone know how long it took for GotM (if the printer date was even announced)?

I'm going to guess it'll be shipped Early-Mid March. It's about time too.

Has any new piece of art been revealed? I haven't seen anything on the official page.
