all right, for the intersts of our collective sanity, i'm gonna go look over the last few days. there are a few people there i'm 50-50 about. maybe looking back could help make things clearer.

If collective sanuty means "my ability to rule the thread and direct my faction", then yes, you could do that, oh Emperor of Xia. If you can patch a phone connection through to Yan Liang, as well? He was asking for it earlier. So far, your play has been stellar. You are slowly collecting momentum and despite offering on thread who you think the Yan Emperor is, and you have a long term plan and conveyed your wishes to your followers: you want to keep the Yan emperor around until after you lynch Sima Yi, which you will do after you have majority.

For those of you whose idea of a good time is not being led by the nose by the Xia, I want to offer an alternative.

Yesterday, a notice went around that proclaimed you were the Emperor of the Xia. I don't think that particular notice was very much needed: even though the voting orders are perhaps a bit messed up, train analysis shows Emurlahn is often on the train, and a lot of the same names crop up in his wake. The notice is thus very much believeable, and several who received it have kept their traps shut. Only reason I did was that I received it with too little time in the day to make certain all barbarians, Yan and the remaining Lu would have a chance to jump on.

After some train-analysis, I conclude Karosis is in fact the Xia PM. Emur maintained distance but all the time made sure he and his followers got the train turned around. I guess I'm to blame for that, in hindsight, as well.

Now guys and gals on thread, here's the story. We can continue as we do, with the Xia as a single voting block that will slowly grind down on the thread through lynches. Or we can behead the snake (so to speak) take Emur out, then their PM (which is very much necessary, believe me), and then go for a free-for-all brawl, where the numbers are roughly the same for each of us, and therefore, also our winning chances.

ah, I was waiting for this, actually.
since I was gonna make the barbs a counter offer

Yan have 5 players left.

Xia have 4.

the reason a shedload of barbs have already been voting with me is because i've effectively kept the heat off of everyone that's stuck in the good-ol' xia sector of the map.

and now, oh Prime Minister of Yan, the cards are on the table. people can vote whichever way they want.

You just agreed with basically ALL of my points that I've been making. I'm glad someone else is thinking. EVERYONE BETTER FUCKING READ THIS.

Because we will need cooperation. Lynching the Xia Emperor won't be easy, he has quite a few people who will simply refuse to vote. But that's okay, because when they do this, and we get a lynch through, it will basically confirm who is in Xia.

Boom.

yeah, read my answer.

off the top of my head:

Tennes, Barg, Shelly, Silanah are all Yan

given how vehemently HP protests being a white rider yet doesn't like Xia, i'm sure he'll try to blend in, too.

oh, don't forget the Usurper.. who started life as a Yan underling.

we're 14 players right now. if no one dies, you lynch me. there's gonna be a lot of blood, since i've been trying to keep the killing to a minimum. you're looking at 12 players with a 5-6 player voting block. you like those odds?.

hrrm, so, if, hypothetically, Karosis turns out to be a white rider? would that mean

me and all my "followers" are barbs too?

I'm thinking there is less of a chance of that. If he does end up being a barb, I would be surprised, as I'm pretty sure I know who one of the white riders is.

recruitment failure ?

After a month of ceasefire, the Yan, Xia and White Riders renewed their war with a great fury. Despite the month's respite, it soon became the bloodiest year of the conflict so far.

Atrahal (Bubba) is dead. He was Peng Ji, Imperial Libationer, a Military Officer of the Xia Dynasty
Silanah (JLV) is dead. She was Gu Yong, Imperial Tutor, a Military Officer of the Yan Dynasty

However, news of these northern battles was completely overshadowed by the events occuring in the west...

Tall, raven-haired, fierce-tempered and usually sitting above a crowd of cowering officials, the spreading word of Lady Zhang's ascension was confident in her ability to rule rather than doubting her competence. The general populace gossiped with great enthusiasm about what great changes would soon be coming to the Lu Dynasty. Her first order of business, however, was military rather than civil.

"I don't care if he's conquered Jiang Xia!" she was shouting at her generals. "He could conquer Xin Du, Eight Fan and Jian Ye in the same day and I wouldn't care! Get Wei Xu back here so I can rip his head off, figuratively, or I'll rip your heads off! Literally!"

She was about to start another tirade when horns began sounding from the city walls. Jia Kui, the son of Jia Xu, dashed to the entrance and shouted back to the rest of the court "A horde of cavalry is descending from the mountains! They bear the banner of Ma Chao!"

"They've broken through our western front!" Lady Zhang shouted as she rose, then turned to her generals, "Gao Pei, launch a harassing squadron of cavalry from the south gate immediately. Yang Huai, take the palace guards and reinforce the western gate. Ma Chao will try to break in there." A shout came from Jia Kui: "Empress, Xiliang warriors have just broken through the palace gates! Run!" Before Jia Kui could turn away an arrow struck him in the throat and he collapsed. The officials panicked and the generals drew their swords, beckoning Lady Zhang to flee by the rear entrance. Windows in the courtroom exploded inwards as black-robed figures leaped into the room and began cutting down officials with long knives as they advanced towards the Empress.

At the frist signs of trouble, Lady Zou had rushed to the rear door and opened it, coming face to face with a short, plain man dressed as an officer and bearing a double-sided sword. Taking advantage of his surprise, Lady Zou slammed the door and dropped the cross brace into place just as heavy battering of the door began from the other side. She held herself against the door, trying desperately to keep it closed while she saw the black-clothed assassins reach the throne.

Lady Zhang's bodyguards had stepped forward to confront the assassins, and so were easy targets of the poisoned darts shot by flanking assassins hidden in the shadows. The trio in the center then leaped forwards at the Empress, who kicked her table upwards into them mid-leap and then, producing a knife from... somewhere... cut the assassins' throats in mid-fall. As she ducked the darts which were fired at her right after, she grabbed the daggers of the assassins at her feet and as she rose hurled them into the shadows where grunts of disbelief were heard, followed by the thumps of falling bodies.

Still holding back the door, Lady Zou was in a great vantage to see Lady Zhang face the crowd of assassins, Xiliang warriors, Lu generals and cowering court officials mixing below. From behind the Empress, one of the cowering handmaidnes suddenly straightened, pulling a pair of dao out of her long sleeves, and padded toward the Empress without a whisper of sound. Lady Zou screamed a warning just as the top of the door broke inwards. It was enough for the man beyond to see both Lady Zou holding back the door and the handmaiden strike out at the Empress, who had heard the warning and leaped low between her attacker's legs, dodging the dao and hamstringing her foe in one move.

"No! Yunlu!" came a great cry from the non-descript man, then his great sword was thrust through the planks of the door, breaking the cross beam and disembowling Lady Zou. The honourary Empress Dowager collapsed to the floor and from there she saw Lady Zhang beaten down by a rush of Xiliang warriors from the courtroom floor. Then she died, her heart filled with grief and sorrow.

Thyrllan (King Lear) is dead. She was Lady Zou, Empress Dowager, a Lover of the Lu Dynasty.

The Lu Dynasty has been eradicated.

Funny, I'm pretty sure HP is the Lu princess.
Sheltatha is an unknown in my book, and I think there are 4 Yan, myself.
Sima Yi, if he is Yan, will perhaps vote for his future faction instead of his current one - we've seen that before in games where players are offered a choice, so the odds are less stellar for the Yan than you think.

As for your music choice...I just can't get enough by Nouvelle Vague ;)
