Thyrllan symping Ruse would be because they are both believed to be Lu. If they both are truely Lu, that would make sense. Trying to retain what little chance of winning the Lu faction has, and trying to keep their teamates alive long enough to become a true faction again, once the others are cut down in size.

I would argue that my LET'S LYNCH KAROSIS ALREADY theory has been going on for longer than even today. Go back and look. If anything, the Ruse train is deflecting from Karosis, and in turn, Emur.

Fair enough, Emur. I know if Ruse turns out to be Usurper I'm pretty much toast. But I really don't think he is. If there is a movement thing, there is a CHANCE that he is a barbarian. But I'm thinking the Ruse notice is deflection.

If they knew it for a fact, they would have said Usurper. Or Barbarian. Leaving it open to interpretation is just a way of increasing the chances that they are correct, so as to not remove the idea that Notices are truthful.

All jokes aside, I think I almost believe that you are telling the truth, maybe. It's good policy to protect potential teammates if you can. But it took so long to get this info that it could be covering your trail.

in fact, I'm fairly certain, several times I explicitly stated "I'm not sure which of the karosis/HP I should believe. one of them could be on my team. I'll look for Ma Chao instead"

Yeah, Emur has stated many times that he thinks Karosis may be on his team. (40% chance, I think he said at one point, but I don't remember if it was chance that he was barb or chance that he was on Emur's team).

Emur is basically not going after Karosis because Emur is based in the upper right hand portion of the map, so he is chasing the barbarians in the upper left.

I'd like to note that the barbarians up there should be making quick work of Lu, but they are not somehow.

I'll state my theory once more, slightly revised before I leave for school:

If Ruse does turn out to be barb or usurper, good on you guys for pushing it, he had me fooled.
If he doesn't, Karosis NEEDS to be lynched. (Karosis needs a lynch, imo, regardless for reasons I will state below)
If Karosis turns out to be barb or usurper then wooh! I think emur has a good chance as well.
If he comes out Xia, I'm thinking Emur is their Emperor, and has been defending his PM or maybe even his normal faction members.

In regards to the Ruse situation, my take is this: I have counted him as Lu, and am suprised at the info saying otherwise. Without knowing its source, I have to be wary of its content, but am glad it was confirmed. I think Ruse would make a decent lynch because: a) he might be barb or usurper per revealed info b)he might make a good recruit if he's from Lu so should be taken out

Right now, I'm going to stop looking at Telas, a thing that keeps happening, but I have no case to speak of and it might be distracting me. So:

I guess that means she is not sure what Ruse is, and also aware that, as things stand, her own fate is tied to Ruse through both the laws of association and those of Malazan Mafia. So a lot more nuanced than denial, and imho the chances that she's associated with Ruse are slimmer than they were before as a result.


It might also be very good distancing, of course.
