Near the end of the season.

BTSATS has had irksome levels of overly forced gender politics throughout, and this week did a complete 180 with "oh but it's always been to scare you away because they're looking for the missing brother too and don't want anyone else in danger". I'll finish because I'm this far in but ehhhh, so much promise, so badly done.

Siscon Writer had one of the best fucking quality animations this week and I'll post it when I can.

ZLS got unexpectedly super depressing.

Bunny Senpai continues to be very strong and is still probably going to be my pick of the season.

It does play pretty well into the theory that manager-kun is the one who hit her first, found her application form, and setup the whole zombie idols thing out of guilt for what he'd done.

Haven't seen that theory - but it fits.

Halfway through binging Sirius the Jaegar and it's a lot of fun. The script can't figure out how to naturally deliver exposition so there's a lot of "time for a 4-minute monologue everyone!", but the acting and premise and action are all good. Wasn't expecting to get a big estate battle and showdown until the end, so I was surprised how much big fights are happening in the first half alone.

That name you mentioned in tags just appeared in txt on Ep 5. El-Melloi II

And that person matches that other person I now see.

Ah, I didn't remember that his name popped up. Yeah, so there you go. He went back to the Tower and is kind of sort of a big-wig there now, though in anime terms that just means he pops up in the epilogues of shows whenever someone winds up at the Tower until Lord El-Melloi's Case Files inevitably gets an adaptation.

Aaaaaand they've now announced an El-Melloi Case Files adaptation. Funny timing, that.

With Crunchyroll slowing down for the end of season, I've binged all of Season 2 of Sword Art Online (unexpected feels train at the end, oof), finished Magi: Labyrinth and watched a funny little number called Hi-Score Girl. I'm a sucker for 90s arcade game stuff.

https://myanimelist.net/anime/season

so 2019 shows...

Might give a spin:
Tate No yuusha No nariagari
Boogiepop (purely the name)
yakusoku no neverland
Egao No daika

And thats it? I guess im really either super jaded about anime or theres nothing that pops out to me.

Maybe I should watch the first mob psycho 100? It also depends on waht crunchyroll gets as in general if its not on crunchyroll i tend not to watch it due to the effort (im a lazy git)

Hopefully we get a few netflix releases soon

Promised Neverland sounds interesting. Boogiepop I haven't seen the first one yet. Tate No Yuusha No Nariagari/Shield Hero is apparently controversial. Judging by the synopsis, I think I can guess why. Not sure it actually interests me enough to watch, though.

Might not be bad to have a smaller winter season, considering spring'19 is already looking pretty stacked.

It has some amazing animation, but I've only seen the clips of them :( But I've been meaning to go back and watch it sometime. Now could be a good time.

See, I kinda like it when the quality is spread between multiple seasons

Just watched Castlevania seasons 1 and 2 on Netflix.

I'm not normally much of an anime fan, and I know zero about the game but this was very well done. Looking forward to Season 3.

Shield Hero ep1 was good. Have you seen the controversy around it though? It feels like Goblin Slayer all over again - people wanting to find something to screech about.

Also picked up The Price of Smiles, of which Ep1 was OK, and Boogiepop, Ep1 of which was very weird and felt kinda disjointed.

Mob Psycho 100 S2

Very good start to the season, Kageyama fleshed out a bit as a character and Emi's introduction was against so many tropes I am actually speechless.

Really looking forward to the next episode.

Today we get Run with the wind episode 12, finally!

Promised Neverland has weird faces but first episode was real good. Y'all better watch it so I have people to WTF react with (presumably) each week. Apparently the manga is super popular so I dare not risk the spoilers of reading reactions anywhere else.

So anime...

I watched ep1 of zombieland saga. Looks good, ill have to watch the rest (YES IM BEHIND DEAL WITH IT)

Shield isekai anime: I enjoyed ep1, looking forward to how the show will develop

Promised Neverland: I liked the episode, im looking forward to it (Though the plot is given away in the series decription so not sure what to wtf about)

Boogiepop: This show is weird. Supernatural/horror/high school drama/weird. I mean the time jumps in ep 1 were interesting and kept you on your feet. But i really don't know what to think of this.

Promised Neverland: Ok this was fun and wholesome and I really like the artwoAAAAAAAAAAH AAAAAAAAAAH WHAT THE FUCK OH GOD AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH WHY AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.

Also watched Girly Air Force ep1. Despite the absolutely shocking title, it was decent. Sci-fi, air combat.

Wataten! episode 1 was predictably fluffy flutter, but I like some comfy brainlet stuff in my season.

Will see what else uploads tonight.

Watch episode 2 and then stop. Seriously. It's very downhill, immediately, after that.

Somehow I managed to avoid reading the synopsis anywhere, so I was pleasantly surprised. Granted...

Watched episode 1. Very very boring, IMO. Not just the dialogue and setup, but all the cinematography/editing/whatever is flat and boring, too, so I'm really not feeling like continuing.
