So I watched the first Pokemon: Origin episode. I don't know what to feel.

I DON'T EITHER...its surreal...

The part where Red is like "I'm Red, so I'll pick Charmander!" and then Green is like "I don't care what colour I'm named after, I'll pick Squirtle just to be an asshole to Red!" was pretty awesome.

I know! that's the weird part, it plays out exactly to the game script but with better everything. Not sure if its brilliance or trolling...

Hmmm...re: Psycho-Pass:

Thus why I included it on the list. I think she's a plenty strong enough female protagonist, just for different reasons than you're thinking of.

Occational bursts of greatness mixed with the a bulk of the usual shounen long running series bullshit.

The anime is worse then the manga.

Not good, but somewhat tolerable if you're looking for something to pass the time. Would consider it the fantasy manga equivalent of Baywatch, the TV show.

^^This.

I've not watched, but most of the folk I know who have watched it...basically share Amph's opinion of the show.

My CrunchyRoll queue is like full to bursting with new Eps of stuff.

AoT Eps 9-to-present are the first on that list, but I should be able to bash through those pretty quickly with nothing properly on the go this weekend.

ECCENTRIC FAMILY - I've seen teh pilot, but the buzz around this is huge, so I'd like to get properly stuck in.

BLAST OF TEMPEST - AoT kind of stole this shows thunder from me as it came along when I had hit the "I'm caught up waiting for new eps to drop"....so I'd like to go back and finish it off.

and COPPELLION seems to have slipped the leash at CrunchyRoll and Viz media snapped it up to stream it themselves from the outset? I dunno. Might have to find it streaming elsewhere.

Anyone know of any good movies or series that are available through netflix or amazon instant? There are definitely some options, but I know nothing about any of them.I've only watched the original Fullmetal Alchemist series, and that was years ago. I enjoyed it though.

For those who wish to watch it, COPELLION is indeed over at Viz Media's free streaming service. You can check out the first 4 eps here:

so they finally got around to subbing the last 2 episodes of the space battleship yamato reboot.

it was awesome! amazing series, a truly great sci fi epic. I would place it on the same level as babylon 5.

US. I'm seeing something called Trigun, that could be cool. Also Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. I may just watch that, but I'm not sure how similar it will end up being compared to the first series.

Quite different. There are basic plot and character similarities, but fairly early on, and certainly by half way, iirc, it is basically a different story. Watch it.

For any Eva fans...I know it's been a long wait, but good news out of NYCC was that Funimation have finally finished their dub of EVANGELION 3.33: YOU CAN (NOT) REDO, and they screened it at NYCC...here is a blog post about that which includes the English voice cast...mostly no surprises there (seriously, I don't think ANYONE other than Spike Spencer should ever, ever play Shinji).

http://funimation.tu...-new-york-comic

So the rumour is that the DVD/BluRay release may be sometime early in the new year...February 2014 is the date that seems to be kicking around.

I'm PERSONALLY kind of hoping that, like 1.11 and 2.22, the dubbed version will get a Theatrical release here in Canada. I've attended both the first two films with two friends (one of them my Anime-watching buddy from the 90's...seriously, we used to get Japanese food and watch anime all night on a regular basis), and I'm hoping we continue to get that treatment...the only issue is that I literally have to keep my nose to the ground to catch it as it usually only plays for a week or two.

Anyways, sounds like we'll finally have the 3rd film in our hot little hands in the new year.

EDIT: Oh and I realize that at a cost of about $40 these headphones aren't going to be the best audio-quality...but sweet merciful Odin I want a pair now. I even tried Google-translating the pre-order page...but sadly they give no international shipping option. Though the previous headphones in this category have traditionally shown up on Amazon in the States to order, my expectation is these will too...and yes, I will order a pair.

@ QT - any news about 4.44,, i so want to see it and watch all of it straight!!!

OT:

FINALLY finished BLACK LAGOON: THE SECOND BARRAGE - this took quite some time, as the site where I'm watching this is not on their site's engine,, and its a little slow to buffer,,

watched eps 3-5 of KUROKO NO BASKET - I usually avoid shows that aren't finished or at least have many eps to watch consequentially,, but i can't resist,, so far its been good!!

also i got curious and watched both FULL METAL ALCHEMIST and FULL METAL ALCHEMIST :BROTHERHOOD - 2eps so far viewed for both series,, and while there's only a slight difference,, i could say that FMA:B is up my taste,, i like it more,, its a little darker and grim,,

the new show i'm watching - MAGI !!! - man,, this show is awesome,, nice OST,, nice animation,, and i like the middle east setting and characters,, the MCs are named Ali Baba and Aladdin,, there's also Sinbad,, though i have yet to see him,,
It's not who I am underneath.. but what i do that defines me - Batman, Batman Begins; 'Without our deaths, sir, there would be no crime. Thus, no punishment to match,' 'Mortal Sword - '
'We are done, my friend. Now, in this manner, we choose the meaning of our deaths' - Mortal Sword Brukhalian to Veteran Nilbanas, siege of Capustan
'Ippen shinde miru (want to try dying this once) ?' - Jigoku Shoujo (Hell Girl)

No, I have heard though that the wait to EVA: FINAL (4.0) is going to be longer than normal, PROBABLY 2014 for Japan...

OP: Just finished Ep 13 of AoT. Really cool end to the initial Trost Arc. Looking forward to seeing where we go now that Eren is in the Survey Corps...and Captain Coldass just stomped his ass for the court. LOL I also didn't realize I was literally the entire season behind, and I still have about half the eps to go. Gotta get to work on that, so I can get properly stuck into ECCENTRIC FAMILY and give the first 3 eps of COPELLION a try.
