Well, actually, come the end of this month (around the 28th) my data cap is doubling to 120Gb, so I might actually be able to afford the bandwidth, heh.

Whoa. That is a LOT of anime. O.o How on earth do you find time to watch all of that!??!/!??!?!
And yeah, Narita is freaking awesome! And he pretty much writes the exact kind of genre you're talking about...hmmm...correlation?
Most of the stuff I've seen is on your 'to watch' list, lol. Though I have to ask...why'd you 'drop' Clannad: After Story?
And welcome (again) to the forums. Hope you like it here.
Anyone else have a series whose next entry you're waiting on impatiently?

Thank you ~
And, I've been watching anime for 5 years now, so it's not really much if you consider that. Also I watch season animes, and one week when they finish I get to add 7-8 to my completed list. Considering it daily, it's only 2-3 episodes.
I think I actually liked After Story more than Clannad, but I heard that it becomes rather depressive and I just wasn't prepared for that at the time. I also dropped FMA 2 times because of so many tragic deaths. I'm overly emotional when it comes to anime, lol.
I also want more of Baccano! I've read 9 novels and loved every single one. I want Huey's homunculus to make and appearance so bad. And I demand more Graham!
Hrm. I see. Well, when you put it that way, it makes sense, but it'd still take me forever to watch even half of what you have.
Yeah, I certainly preferred After Story, that's why I was asking. But...depressive doesn't really do it justice. "Most tragic and moving story EVER", is probably a better fit (at least in my not-so-humble opinion, heh). So yeah, you probably don't want to go there unless you're looking for tearjerking. XD It still actually makes me cry, and I'm not normally 'overly emotional' about fiction in general. :S Kinda like having your heart torn out, actually...you can't ignore it. XD
Haha, Graham was awesome! He definitely managed to steal the limelight in the OVA every time he was on-screen, except maybe around Claire who is pretty much Narita's favourite anyway. I'll have to get onto the light novels for Baccano - but I'm holding out hope for another season of the anime, thus figured I might enjoy that more if I hadn't read the novels, heh...
Actually, I read a recent interview with Narita, and he said that "Vino is so powerful that I decided I should stop writing about him." And so he moved onto 2000's novels, announcing Huey as his new favorite. Strange, he's the only writer I know that decided so plainly on a favorite from his own work.
Who is your favorite Baccano! character? I never liked Vino, he's too arrogant and far too easily turns into a crazy killer. He's like a more timid Ladd (whom I also dislike).
Also, the anime didn't follow the novels fully, there are quite a few changes, so I recommend that you read them anyway. You might be surprised with the plot differences.

Haha, yeah, he was a bit ridiculous. I seem to recall something somewhere about him, Shizuo, what's-his-face-who's-actually-the-demon-in-Baccano, and one or two others being the most powerful 5 in Narita's entire 'verse, so I can imagine he gets rather ridiculous in the end...considering he's being listed alongside demons/Eldritch Abominations. XD Eh, also, I guess...minor spoiler in the Vino/Claire thing. Meh.
Hrm, my favourite Baccano! character...I did quite like Vino for his ridiculously Large Ham tendencies, but I preferred Ennis and Firo (while they are both fairly stereotypical - Ennis, especially - there was just something downright charming about both of them, heh), so I guess they'd have to be my favourites. Oh, wait! That's not quite true. Ronnie is probably actually my favourite character. XD But he doesn't get much screen time at all. Probably the same reason I like Anomander Rake for, then. I think one of the best things about both Baccano! and Durarara!! is that they have so many characters, all of whom are at least a bit insane, and they all mash up together so well. In fact, that's pretty much what they run on, as far as I can tell, and it works brilliantly. XD
I'll definitely have to get into the novels, then. I figured there would be a bit of adaptation displacement, but it'll be worth it anyway, I'm sure.

Then again, I like Nice the best so maybe it's me who is crazy...
Silencer - re your question on what follow-ups/etc you'd like to see --> I would love to see another Read or Die OVA or series dealing with papermasters living in an increasingly internet-driven, paperless world! New super-power = Kindle-masters?

I used to be a huge anime fan in my teens, but since discovering that fantasy fandoms often frown upon anime styled fanart I started growing out of it rapidly. About all the anime I ever watch now is Gintama. (which is hilarious and great, by the way. everyone should watch it. my sig quote is the title of an episode.)

it'll stress you out even more so there's really nothing we can do about it after all.

Gintama is pretty great. I have never laughed as hard as I did when they fought over the meat in the frying pan. classic.
@ Silencer. YES Jormungand sounds very similar to black lagoon, reading the synopsis I'd probably enjoy it. If you only got two episodes in I think you have much left to enjoy. Alot of what makes Black lagoon interesting sits with Rocks character development. And once you watch roberta take on the whole of roanipour you really get hooked. I think you should give it another go. It might not be your cup of tea but It has quite a bit of depth to it.

I probably shouldn't say because I haven't watched the OVA in a while and so this'll be all wrong... but I found him to be one-sided-crazy. Crazy characters are okay as long as they have some other aspects to themselves, it makes them interesting and not entirely predictable, but someone like Graham is just like "I'm crazy and I fix things and I'm crazy and have a big wrench and crazy shout philosophy while I fix things with my big wrench BECAUSE I'M CRAZY!" and that's like, all he ever does.

Oh God no! Graham is easily the most complex character in Baccano!, which is obvious from the novels. In the OVA he says some pretty crazy things, but on the other side you can see that he's actually a smart guy and unusually good-hearted for a thug. Not one sided in any case. Go watch that OVA and stop insulting my Graham. xD

Absurd! Vino(railtracer) is the only thing one should ever say about baccano.
Also im watching the new installment of Fate titled Fate Zero. I've never watched fate before but that has no bearing on the matter. The premise: 7 mages are allowed to resurrect 7 heroes under the title of archer, caster (mage), berserker, assasin, saber, rider and lancer. They are then pitted against each other, the winner gets the holy grail and one wish, no matter how grand or small. It is a surprisingly intelligent take on the good old fashioned deathmatch formula.
I thorougly recommend it. The only problem I foresee are the liberties taken depicting characters from history. If you let this slide you will find this show quite entertaining.

I hate Vino with a passion.
F/Z is fairly good. This 2nd season strikes me as much more emotionally invested than the first one. Though, my first love was F/Stay Night.

I have not watched fate stay the night but After fate zero I am surely gonna give it a look.

you should, although reversely i haven't seen Zero, and i might at that,
since you already saw it, you already have background of what happened to shiro's father, although
shiro's relationship with Illyasviel wasn't much highlighted in Stay Night,
hmm, that reminds me, i still have that Alter 1/8 figurine of Saber that i have yet to purchase, tough luck,
