I played Just Cause 2 on the PS3 and it's been years since I finished it. I wouldn't know if it stands out today.

I thought BF4 was pretty. I wasn't making a ranked top ten. Maybe Crysis 3 does look better but I wouldn't know with out doing side by side comparisons.

I saw Dragon Rising and thought it looked amazing, thought it was a JC2 add-on.

Has been playing War in the East mostly, still the best ww2 game I've played in a long time.

Also been testing the wastelands 2 beta but it's a bit buggy for my taste but might be a fairly decent game when its done.

Going to try SWTOR instead.

After Green Pigs question about whether or not he should buy Just Cause 2 I ended up downloading it again.

It is still an absolute blast. I am seriously considering playing through it one more time even though I don't normally replay games.

EDIT; Oh wait, now I remember why I was playing this game on PS3 instead of PC. The game has chrashed 4 times now and one time the NPC helicopter glitched out so I couldn't finish the mission.

I've installed it and will probably start playing tonight.

Talking of replays, I want to replay mass effect again but no matter how good a game is, I always lose interest in a replay because there's no surprise and it ends up feeling like a chore to re-do something I've already done before, even with games I love...

Might try anyway.

The thing about Just Cause 2 is that you don't play it for the story. There barely is a story and the characters and voicework are and is awful. But the gameplay is ridiculously fun. Watching the chaos meter go up and getting 100% in every village and military base is very satisfying.

been playing more Thief . Having forced my way past the annoying zombie-infested parts of the Cathedral level (mines FTW!), the game now has a plot! Loving the Mage Towers.

Also about 70% into another S.T.A.L.K.E.R. playthrough. I'm at the point where I'm just about to unlock Duty faction missions, and then all that's left is going past the Scorcher. Think I want to leave it here for a bit, because I've got a basically perfect spot to just jump in and fuck around in the game world whenever I feel like it, without pushing the story along.

Good for you! It's a simply astounding game. The sequel even more so. Deadly Shadows is worth it for Shalebridge Cradle.

Mage Towers, Lost City, and Opera House were all brilliant. I can finaly see why this game is rated so highly.

I must admit I never played Gold with mage towers and opera house. I do have it, just having problems running it on a modern machine even through steam - no cinematics (which are some of the fucking coolest in any game ever concieved) and weird stuff with dual-screen and controls. But yeah, Lost City was my favourite it TDP, followed closely by.... hmm, no spoilers, but you'll meet haunts again :-)
The Metal Age has less of the fantastic and more clockwork/steam punk with machines and shit, and also features a sprawling roof level that lets you feel that thieves highway feel, it's awesome,

I'm running the GOG version of Gold, on an 64-bit Win 7 quad-core (Dark Engine games have issues with multiple-cores). Runs like a charm, with cinematics and everything. The GOG version includes fan fixes for the Dark engine, and I think I added a hi-res mod on top (which I also got through GOG forums)

You can get it @ GOG for a fiver and there's a 30 day money back guarantee if it doesn't run on your machine

I'm probably gonna give Metal Age a spin soon after I'm done with Gold.

I'm firing up Planescape: Torment again. It would be nice to play as another character class, but missing out on all those memories and extra dialogue options just won't do.

I just westernized Super-Najd. Now my Conquest of India will meet no serious Challenge.

Finished Thief . Great game, though i'm still not the biggest fan of those levels that try to push combat onto me (the non-human levels, basically). Especially the expert-level challenges of "you must kill XYZ to continue"

still, great game. I understand why it's a classic.
