Got the suckers! Romped through the rest if the level fairly easily. With the help of the knight of light the bosses went down on my first go as well. Struggled a bit with that bloke who murdered the Firelink woman, but got him as well in the end. Right after the archers is a fairly good grinding area, so ive popped up some soul levels now. Up to soul level 59, got 30 endurance and havels ring, so im sporting the full Havel's set. Now I'm zipping back and forth and all over the place with my new warp ability. Currently on my way down the crystal cave now. I love this game again.

I cannot "want" to play, knowing I have to face the 4 kings.

I also played Limbo last night. Lord Zeitn what a beautiful game that is! Got as far as the fourth to last chapter(?) where you got those huge blocks that rises into the air when you press the anti-gravity thing, then make them stay there with the magnetism-thing. All chapters so far has done a marvellous job at making me feel smart, but this one got me stumped. Usually I'm one of those who run to the walkthroughs as soon as I meet the tiniest bit of resistance, but this time I shall persevere!

Not even close :D

It's a small funny game where you play a wizard on a quest to find a mighty wizard. You can play 4player coop which usually results in much hilarity due to your spells interferring with eachothers and oh so much friendly fire. It's definitely a funny game

Ah. Xbox is giving "free games on gold" and I have just downloaded one called Magic or something. It's okay.

You got Magic 2013 which is the video game version of the TCG by Wizards of the Coast.
Monster Hunter World Iceborne: It's like hunting monsters, but on crack, but the monsters are also on crack.

I was stuck on that for ages, where you were supposed to jump over a saw blade with a worm in your head. Got passed the saw blade, but couldn't figure out where to go after. Made me feel like an idiot when I finally found out, though.

Bought the game for my iPad as well. It is a bit clunky compared to playing with a game pad - of course it is, it must be - but on the whole I was rather impressed with how they solved input on a platform game like this. Haven't gotten quite as far as on this as on my computer, but I did navigate myself through some of the trickier parts so the controls won't hold you back.

Fuck. I know I'm a petulant gamer, I don't deal with struggle too well. I'm having a hard enough time with this as it is. Are you saying they'll up the difficulty even further later on? (Because so far they've done a marvellous job at always testing me just hard enough.)

There are things that can be done barely and then there is the 4 kings. They are the "boss" of the New Londo. You know the place with all the Ghosts?

I know those videos are crap at relating how difficult this game really is, but he basically just pounded away at them. I don't know how Havel's set compares to Knight of Carina's set (?), but my character is 15 soul levels above him, I have +3 estus flask and I've got a +5 dark knight halberd. How hard can it be?

My hit's didn't work on them, I realised I needed a potion or something but then that runs out duing the fight. It is very difficult!

I have a lightning spear but it isn't that powerful, they were doing 600+ damage per hit.

No no, he's just hitting them multiple times. The key here seems to be endurance, defence and poise. The kings basically doesn't do any real damage, and they don't stagger him either, so he can just hit them with reckless abandon. My pipe may change its tune when I actually get to them, but it doesn't seem as hard as a few other places.

Maybe the other people who have played the game can say where we both are wrong?

I'm still trying to get into Thief. I really like the first level, but that damn zombie cave tends to turn me off every time.
watched a let's play of the first part of that level, just to figure out what to do, will give it another shot this weekend.

I've been playing some Rogue Legacy today.

I beat it a while ago but I really loved it and according to the Steam Achievement list I only needed 2 achievements to 100% the game. I've never bothered to 100% a game on Steam before so I thought why not. I am on New game + but it's not that hard seeing as I seriously over-levelled my hero for the final boss. Currently just grinding gold, fairy chests and looking for the last pieces of equipment I am missing. I tried fighting the first boss just to see how hard it was on New Game +. Turned out I could just pummel it to death with out even bothering to avoid damage. Of course I was also using a Barbarian, so my health pool was ridiculous.

It's strange, with some music or a good podcast in the background I can play this game for hours on end with out getting bored or tired. The actual fighting mechanics are dirt simple but the precision and control is just fantastic.

It's 40% off on Steam, I seriously recommend you try it out if you're looking for something new to try out.

After losing spectacularly in my Vijayanagar/Hindustan game (got greedy and had a coalition headed by a heavily resurgent Timurids utterly destroy me), I decided I would play a nation in the HRE, and Saxony looked interesting, if only because it's one of the few that actually has a unique idea set. So now I'm looking to form Germany and either dismantle the HRE or become emperor, I haven't decided yet.

I've had a pretty decent run of bad luck so far though. My monarch died 3 months into the game, leaving my 1 year-old monarch with a 0-0-0 regency council, meaning I had to wait 14 years until he reached his majority, unable to start any wars at all and falling rapidly behind in tech. Since this was Ironman though, I decided to power through. When he finally came of age, I had claims everywhere so decided to expand south a little, and took Bamberg. Cored it no problem. I got the awesome Dishonourable Scum CB against Bavaria, who were looking particularly menacing on my southern doorstep, so I then roped Austria into a war with them and crushed them, taking Nurnberg as my reward and freeing a bunch of nations. Even with a claim it cost 180 admin points to core, but it's a very rich province so I figured it was worth it. Literally the day before it was set to core a rebel doomstack larger than my entire force limit spawned in the province, halting its progress and I ultimately lost all those admin points because the siege lasted a whopping 60 days. I mortgaged myself to the hilt trying to defeat the rebels, yet right after I'd defeated them Brandeburg declares war on me for Leipzig, roping in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and the Hansa, and since he was also allied to my faithful ally Austria, she didn't join the war to help me. The cherry on the cake? My ally Poland offered to help me, but since they didn't have military access through Bohemia or the Teutonic Order they were completely cut off from myself and Brandenburg, thus unable to help me. After the resulting joke that was my resistance, I lost all my provinces bar my capital and for some reason my personal union with Thuringia ended, leaving me with one lousy province with enemies all round.

Damn you EUIV!
