On easy/normal, if you are within 5 levels of the "recommended" level, you can go ahead and do that quest, as a general rule.
You get EXP from questing not random kills. Early on, clearing out bandit camps is your best source of recipes (solving question marks = questing). I started doing that along the western coastline of Velen (up to the cannibal village), and I was over-levelled for the first "witch" quest in no time. You should do that one pretty early-it's a neat dungeon crawl with a strong cast.
Gwent has its own extensive quest-line, so if you are a completionist, it'll bug you. Also, the last quest in that line has some awesome writing.
To make your life REALLY easy early on, there's a talent that gives you plus 200 HP. That'll make you virtually unkillable a long as you avoid any "red" critters.
And do the story, it's awesome. As are most of the side-quests.

Bought Trackmania Turbo earlier today. Been hearing about Trackmania for years now but never tried one of the games out. It's fun. Sort of like DIRT: Showdown but with a better system and an emphasis on crazy tracks.
If anyone wants to buy a PC copy and compete for the best time I will volunteer to crush you like a bug. It's really the leader boards that make this game fun. I keep shaving time off the tracks trying to get a better position on the national and global leaderboards.
Still playing The Division. I am basically just grinding for better gear now by doing the daily quests and the occasional Dark Zone run. I've finally gotten a high enough damage output that I feel confident trying the Story Missions on Challenging difficulty. It's god damn intimidating fighting against waves of Yellow level elites but also fun if the team works together.
Also played a bit of Shadow of Mordor. Already played through it on PS4 with a friend back when it came out but I felt like murdering a bunch of Orc Captains. The Nemesis AI system really is one of the most interesting and innovative game design choices in recent memory. It's great to see the orcs remembering what you did or showing various auto-generated character quirks.

Finished the first job in Thief 3. It's good to be Garrett again, even though trying to nab 90% of the loot on expert got annoying when I ended up with 88.
Not very impressed with having to actually sell my loot every time. Also, the tiny loading areas remind me of Invisible War. That is NOT a good thing.
Had to install new textures and a resolution fix before it became playable. Modded the game to resemble the originals as much as possible. only thing in the UI that's always visible is the gem, front and centre.

I'm playing the PS4 version of the Last of Us. It is excellent.

Yes! I was just blown away!
The Witcher 3 is hard. Every mission I come across is too high a level for me. Need to get XP so I'm focusing on the main missions for a time. I'm currently looking for the Barons daughter and wife.

Check out the western coast for low level content. Bandit camps and hidden treasure are easies ways to max XP.

My brother roped me into playing World of Tanks on the ps4. It's actually rather fun.

Yeah, but I've not really felt any of the negative aspects of that, nor have I felt the need for spending money, which I wont do anyway.

I never even thought to look for free games on ps4.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

We'll soon be starting up an RPG where we will play newly minted Space Marine scouts of an as of yet unknown chapter, so I've started up the ol' Dawn of War 2 where I'm currently crushing foul xenos under my boot!
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

Been playing a fair bit of BlazBlue again recently now that we have a decent local scene going. Play first to 5 with my mate Scott recently - lost by 4.5 : 5 so it was damn close.
Main pointers from the experience: Need to work on extending combos with the waifu, need to improve my confirms with Tager, and need to pay more attention to Celica's combo pathways / openings / where to factor drive moves in.

Played 30 minutes of the Doom Multiplayer closed beta. It's pretty cool but also very familiar. It's basically just what I remember Quake Arena playing like with better graphics.
I liked the feel of the weapons all though I feel like none of the weapons had the proper "oomph". The sound of the shotgun or the impact of the rocket launcher just didn't sound violent enough.
I did do surprisingly well. I was in the top 3 for all 3 rounds I played, even though I was playing with a controller.

Gave Styx a try after it was free on GWG. It was terrible. Stealth games with broken stealth systems are never a good thing.
Carrying on with Thief and System Shock 2.

Had basically 0 gaming time this weekend. Did manage to re-play the City portion of Thief 3 after the first job. Found the rooftop path to avoid getting caught by the thugs this time. Broke into the tavern (I don't mind the lockpicking), but didn't finish cleaning it out.
I'm trying to ghost it, so no hitting City Watch- which can be challenging sometimes.
Once I manage to get the Keeper briefing unnoticed, gonna hit up the Pagans- seems an easier gig than breaking into the Hammers' compound.

If thou wouldst break into the compound of the Hammers, thou surely art a villain most wicked.

Halo5, Rocket League, The Division, and oddly Shop Heroes (mobile).
Monster Hunter World Iceborne: It's like hunting monsters, but on crack, but the monsters are also on crack.

Taffin' about The City, doing a bunch of B&E jobs.
I freed the pagan monster and got a map. Not sure what it's for yet.
The Stonemarket vendor is useless, b/c she doesn't sell water arrows.
And what exactly does a practice lock do? I bought it, b/c I had too much money, but what's it for?
I think I stole almost everything of value in Stonemarket. Gonna head back south and check out the Pagan tunnels.

Stop it, you taffer.
More BlazBlue later. Having a regular gaming partner for it is helping my game come on. It's Azrael time tonight. Apply upper weakpoint and then put him in a situation where I can hit with Valiant for Charger 5c 6 5c 6 5c 6 5c 6 2c 6d for a sizeable harm.

Finally managed to tear myself away from XCOM 2 and have been playing Invisible, Inc instead. Fantastic little game.

Stupid Norton ate my Sneaky Mod exe. Had to re-install, and haven't dared launch it yet for fear that my paltry progress was wiped.
I find myself not inspired by thought of playing Thief 3. The small levels feel too much like Invisible War, and even the lure of finally experiencing the legendary Shalebridge Cradle isn't a strong enough motivator.
I'll probably power through it to make some progress at some point during the weekend, but so far I'm less than impressed.
