Played some Hitman earlier today. It's really good but also a short affair. We tried half a dozen different approaches but in the end one level doesn't make for much game play.
I think the game is worth it if you like Hitman and a sand box sort of approach to game play but if you're looking for a greater narrative and progression you might want to look elsewhere.
Still it's an amazing looking level.

Finishing up the NG+ run of Arkham Origins. Done the story, just need to round up the escaped prisoners. Then may do the DLC again to pick up the achievements this time, and then gonna move on. Think i'll play Thief 3 next.

I've been playing The Witcher 3 (hating that I only got myself a playstation last year and therefore never got to play the older games) while reading the novels the game is based on. I've also been playing some Diablo 3, Uncharted, The Last of Us, Mortal Kombat XL and Tomb Raider. And when I say playing I mean spending about an hour or two gaming during the weekend, because I'm way too busy during the week. Finished God of War 3 though, that was a fun game.

Stellaris is to be released in May. So I guess I'll have something to do once DS3 is exhausted.

XCOM 2, XCOM 2, and, oh yeah, XCOM 2. Finished my 'Commander' difficulty campaign and now playing on 'Legend'. So addictive.
I did play and finish Rise of the Tomb Raider, too, which I really enjoyed - and I've finally made a start on Shadowrun: Hong Kong (figured it was high time I did, after contributing to its Kickstarter

Finished AC Syndicate. Hoods marble balls on an anvil but that was a fun game! Unity just lacked... Something... but this one seemed to make up for it! I can't describe it but when I finished Unity, I was a bit "meh" but now I am sad I have finished. The only thing I really have left to do is finish racing to get the schematic from that guy but I'm not sure I can be bothered with racing. I have done the Queen Victoria missions too so I truly am done. Is it worth getting the seasons pass for the Jack the Ripper and Maharaja missions?
Anyway my friend has both Witcher III and Arkham Knight so I'll probably get one of them off him next.

I ended up not bothering doing all of those events and races in Syndicate. Racing was fun but not that fun.
I'd definitely recommend the Jack the Ripper DLC. It's a lot better than the main game but it might be good to take a break inbetween. I felt a bit AC'd out when I played Jack the Ripper.
Witcher 3 and Arkham Knight were my two favorite games last year. Either one is amazing.

In my humble opinion the Witcher 3 was one o fthe best games of the last decade, whereas Arkham Knight was entierly mediocre. Opinions differ however.

Arkham Knight of course suffers from being the fourth game in a series of games that are mostly the same. But the production values, the set pieces, the events all add up into a really great game in my opinion.
I wont spoil Tiste here but there are some moments in AK that were truly one of a kind to me.

I have played and enjoyed the other 3 buyt was never obsessed with them as I have been with other games. I was utterly disappointed with the 3rd one (Arkham Origins I think?) which is why I haven't bothered with AK yet. But I have heard it is much better (more akin to Arkham City/Asylum games) As for being AC'd out it occurs to me that this possibly happened to me before, which is why I didn't enjoy Unity as much - I went straight onto it immediately after Black Flag. And I loved Black Flag so freaking much that maybe Unity was a bit much... Anyway I need to see which one my friend has finished or is more willing to get rid of for a while. I'm happy to play either.

I liked the story in Origins. The combat was worse (response time on blocks was screwed up), and the progression system/unlocks was crap.
Probably gonna pick up Arkham Knight in a Steam Summer Sale.

I've never been much for mobile games, but I have been having fun lately with Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes. It's free to play, and though I see how the payment side of the game could be tempting, I've yet to feel penalized for not spending any money what so ever.

Playing Killer Instinct alongside BlazBlue now. It helps that a lot of the base mechanics are the same. Hisako seems to fit my playstyle pretty well, somewhere between Hakumen and Tager with elements of Mu's midrange game (long range normals).
Also Rocket League. This happened earlier. Call me John Virgo.

Started playing The Witcher III! Enjoying it so far, just getting to grips with remembering about signs etc. I think I have hit every question mark on the first map and have started the kill the griffin mission. Any advice on what to upgrade etc first? I have been putting ability points towards things like upping my sword attacks seen as I use them the most...

I'd say your options are very open. You could play tens of hours without even doing any story quests. You can do what you want really.
In regards to equipment, I'd recommend looking up the armor and weapon sets. Personally I hated almost all of Geralts outfits but I really liked the Wolf School armor. Remember to use oils and buffs, they mean a lot if you're not over-leveling.
Also collect everything. Just empty every drawer, basket, corpse, etc. you come across. If it can be looted, do it. Almost anything can be used in some way to craft items or equipment.
Keep an eye on your recipes. You will find that one recipe ties into another and you will be unlocking new tiers of flasks and bombs, etc. as you play.
In regards to your skills and abilities. I'd recommend going into alchemies and toxicity. If you spec right, all those toxicities create a synergy that makes you a wrecking ball.

What difficulty are you playing at? That really matters in how you configure your build.
Personally, I'm a big fan of the Signs. Alt-Aard is a great trick against groups of enemies swarming you. Depending on which style you prefer, put points into Mastery of that particular School.
You're still in White Orchard, which is a pretty limited "starter area". Before you go fight the Griffin, make sure to play Gwent with EVERYONE.
Word of caution: once you get to the next open-world area and the game "really" opens up, you'll start over-levelling if you don't follow the main quest line quickly. It means you may not get all the exp from said quests if you over-level them by 5 lvs above the "recommended" level. If you're on the PC, there are mods that fix this. If you're on a console, best just watch it, and plan your explorations carefully.
In terms of gear: collect the plans for the Witcher school gear ASAP b/c it's the best gear in the game. Apt is correct about scavenging everything (you can increase your carrying capacity by upgrading your saddle. Win horse races to get better saddles), but in the cities you have to watch out for guards-they don't react we to thievery on the street (breaking and entering is fine though)

Alto's Adventure, from the Play store.
I never play anything on my tablet; this is quite addictive though, even if I keep falling into seemingly impossible to jump chasms.

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Yeah except in the Velen area, all the missions that come up are way too high level!

I have got a couple of diagrams for armour but never have the right materials. I am literally looting everything I can!

I haven't noticed that yet but I stop and "take stock" if you like every now and then.

My issue is I am not levelling up very fast and at the moment can only have 3 abilities and 1 mutagen on the go. I am doing a few missions but as I said above I am in a hugely open area where a ton of the things I want to do are for levels far beyond mine, so I'm not getting the XP. Do I get it for just killing monsters/bandits etc?

Oh, easy! I am not brilliant at video games on the whole (except the AC series, I have always been good at them!) and I am finding this quite challenging already...

Alt-Aard? Is that one that develops from Aard? My signs are pretty low level atm. I use Igni quite a bit, especially against human enemies. They are pretty susceptible to it!

I did everything in White Orchard so I moved onto Velen. I only played Gwent the once though, and have killed the griffin. Is it really worth doing? What's the benefit?

All the quests are above my level! I am only level 4 and the simple mission I'm on is recommended level 7! I dunno how I haven't picked up that much XP as I am trying to do everything I can... I'll just keep plowing through - I tend to try to go after all the question marks on the map, though that is leading me to some tough places where the enemies have red skulls above their heads and I'm not good enough to defeat them! As I said, I'm not very good...

Haven't found any diagrams for that yet... Also, as I said I don't have enough resources to get anyone to craft decent stuff for me...
