Kruppe as primary, Circle Breaker for secondary character

Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away."

Does Kruppe rhyme with UP or OOP, I wonder...
I always thought Kruppe rhymes with UP, but I just finished the audiobook version, and the reader pronounces it with two syllables, rhyming with UP-UH. It was strange at first, but I grew to like it as it seems to enhance the quirkiness of Kruppe's dialog through his constant third person references to himself. Does anyone know if Steven Erikson was involved in the audiobook versions enough to dictate pronunciation of names?
Oh, and my favorite character, to get back on topic, is likely Kruppe. I love the dream sequences and the humor. He's one of the few things that provides some occasional relief from consistently dark storytelling - not that that's a bad thing, but I like to see a little balance. I also like Hairlock as a puppet for this reason too. He's still dark, but there's some humor and a lot of intrigue in the whole concept. By the end of the book, I found myself growing to like Rallick quite a bit as well.

Since i found this forum when reading tCG (Dunno why it took so fucking long!) its hard to choose without being swayed by later events but I do remember wanting to see more of Ocelot. That's my vote

^ Seriously? 3 of those guys are not even in this book. I wonder about you sometimes.
Theorizing that one could poop within his own lifetime, Doctor Poopet led an elite group of scientists into the desert to develop a top secret project, known as QUANTUM POOP. Pressured to prove his theories or lose funding, Doctor Poopet, prematurely stepped into the Poop Accelerator and vanished. He awoke to find himself in the past, suffering from partial amnesia and facing a mirror image that was not his own. Fortunately, contact with his own bowels was made through brainwave transmissions, with Al the Poop Observer, who appeared in the form of a hologram that only Doctor Poopet could see and hear. Trapped in the past, Doctor Poopet finds himself pooping from life to life, pooping things right, that once went wrong and hoping each time, that his next poop will be the poop home.

My favorite character in Gardens of the Moon is definitely Kruppe.
Kruppe's hidden genius, as others have noted, is both interesting and awesome. He seems to be benevolent, erudite, and extremely intelligent.
The chapter introducing him was both intriguing and superb.
My second favorite character in of Gardens of the Moon is probably Ganoes Paran. He is engaged in fascinating events.
I also like Baruk. I would place him either third on the list or about tied with Paran.
So:
1) Kruppe
2) Ganoes Paran
3) Baruk

Tool. He's undead. I mean, c'mon.
There's a lot of good ones in here, and I admit I am influenced by MoI, but one of the things that I have really enjoyed about this series is the creativity and diversity in races. (If I never have to read about an elf/dwarf/orc/etc. again, it'll be too soon.) And of all the races, the T'lan Imass are to me the most creative and interesting. Everything about them rocks. Tool is not only a great character in his own right, he is also our introduction to the T'lan Imass.

Im still in the midst of the series (BH) and am really itching to get into a re-read just to rediscover these characters when I actually know something about them. But I remember just starting the series and trying to wrap my head around warrens in general and then reading about what quick can do....
I'd say for me
1 Quick
2 Tool
3 Kruppe
kruppe is just hilarious.

Many many wonderful laughs with Kruppe these days!
But ultimately is all falls down to Anomander Rake, the greatest badass in fantasy.

I had automatically assumed it was pronounced like that when I started reading the book, simply because it sounded German to me — and that’s how you would pronounce it in German.

Forgot to mention that I liked Captain Ganoes Paran a lot, Kruppe made me giggle, and I was genuinely amused and taken by Crone, the Great Raven.
As for Rake? I prefer Brood.

To the OP
My favourite character in GoTM is Anomander Rake. And then one can say, Ganoes Paran. QuickBen is also nice.
EDIT: I totally forgot KRUPPE.

Quick Ben has always been one of my favorites, I have been fascinated by him from the very start. Followed very closely by Kruppe I would say.
