Hood vs Reverence (Spoiler)

While I was in general disappointed with the extreme ease at which just about every Pure Blood FA was dispatched by anyone they were fighting in the book, I did laugh my arse off reading the passage depicting their brief encounter and was reminded of a scene from my childhood favorite show, which I had to find on youtube:

Are you talking about the bit where Hood bites an FA in the face? That was Equity I think, and reminded me more of the bullfighter who got gored in the throat so badly it came out his mouth.

I think he means the leader FA on top of the spire that Hood smashed to bits by repeatedly slamming her into the ground while holding her by the ankle.

Ah yes, I remember that bit now. Example pretty much nails it.
Someone really needs to paint that scene, by the way. Gesler dead, Bent sidled up to him, Reverence a shattered mess on the ground and Hood staring at Gu'Rull while he gathers the Heart. Would be epic.

That would be an epic picture. I imagine it as depicting the top floor of the spire. In the center of the picture. is the fountain with the giant KCCM crouched on top of it with his feathery wings spread out as a shadow against a smoke and sorcery filled sky. In its hands is blood dripping heart of the CG.
To the left stands hood in his cloak, with the broken shape of reverence on the floor. Maybe have Roach worrying her leg or something.
To the right lies Gesler with the guard dog standing above him protecting his master with his body.

My imagining is pretty much the same, although in my head the scene looks over Hood's shoulder with him holding Reverence's shattered corpse.

Christ that was a powerful scene. I mean we've seen the FA take some serious punishment: pinned under a stone for cenuries (or was it eons), dropped in a pit and burned to death with a burner, face bitten off, consumed by their God's Di'vers form, but Reverence (the elite of the FA) is beaten so bad that she actually sobs before dying.

1. Wasn't Gu'rull supposed to have a short snout? Also, way more muscular.
2. I always thought Gesler was bald. No proof, just a feeling.

Gesler was bald in the earlier books. Whether hes still bald in these later ones after him and Stormy were lightly toasted in KT im unsure but I remember someone commenting on their golden hair being pretentious. Also epic scene if any fancies a paint.
Just to point this out this the thread title is somewhat spoilerific. If you know at some point there is a conflict between Hood and Reverence then thats a spoiler in my book.

Hood really cleaned house here... but remember, she was weakened by ruling the entire army, and fighting off Gesler. He came in, caught her by surprise (not because she didn't know he was coming, but because she had just taken care of Gesler), and used her body to try to batter the floor to pieces... repeatedly. She didn't know what was approaching. Remember how bad-ass the Jaghut Tyrant was in Darujistan? Wouldn't Hood be that multiplied by a factor? After all, he was a Jaghut who not only ascended, but became the God of Death.
