Listen, not a year goes by, not a year, that I don't hear about some escalator accident involving some bastard kid which could have easily been avoided had some parent - I don't care which one - but some parent conditioned him to fear and respect that escalator!
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

I am still disappointed that "Tom Cruise Day" was not added to the calendar after the forum voted on it :D

I have a healthy fear of falling down escalators and slicing my face up. Yes it's irrational, not like they're bladed or anything, they just look like julienne slicers O_o

I am not a fan of what the flirting thread turned into. Some of you people skeeve me out big time.

To be fair, I am proud to have met and kicked it with a group of the forum members in Chicago.

The two groups thus far seem to be non-overlapping...

Yeah, it may have turned a little hot and heavy - entirely unintentional, I assure you. Gaes and Orfie tend to have that kind of effect on threads :D

I maintain that each new level of depravity was set off by something you said, Shiara *nods head*

Somehow I think there was some confusion as to whether the Flirting Thread was about flirting or was to flirt in.
Incidentally it's the latter.

Though I'm considering bringing back the "Just love me" thread by Nakijo that was about flirting and relationships.

I got my Afghanistan ANZAC Day badge today. Last year, I had to go to several different shopping centres before I found one. I ended up with a Vietnam, Tobruk and Lightbrigade badge as well because I couldn't not buy a badge from each store.

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing but respect for our past soldiers but I like wearing a badge that reminds people that we still have troops in Afghanistan - seems a lot of people have forgotten - especially since the war in Iraq.

I like that is has a little message on the card that reads: 'For all Australians who served in the war in Afghanistan - in particular those who have paid the supreme sacrifice. We Will Remember.'

1 decent sized ham, decent pinch of salt, some pepper, 2 cloves of garlic (1 cut in slivers, 1 minced), 2 spoons of lemon juice, 1 spoon of lime juice, 1 spoon of freshly squeezed orange juice.

Salt the meat to taste; cut small slashes into the ham and wedge in the slivers of garlic.
Mix a marinade of minced garlic, lemon and lime juice.
Pour over meat, cover tightly with foil, and refrigerate overnight.

When ready to cook, heat the oven. Roast the meat for about three hours, basting every half hour.
Just before removing the ham from the oven, raise the heat to crisp the skin.
