I refuse to watch movies with him anymore. I was dissappointed way too many times.

Classic Cage example: Face-off.

It was almost ludicrous enough to enjoy if it were satire, but just unsatirical enough to be absolutely mind-blowingly retarded.

TBH I liked Cage's performance in Kiss of Death.


Not entirely on-topic, but I hate the fact that I just love Travolta's performances in pretty much every flick he appears in, especially Basic (I just love that film). Then otoh he's a scientologist douchebag.

Y'know, funnily enough, I'm not a big Travolta fan either, but I also liked Basic. Which is weird bcs it's really a crap movie if you break it down.

Everything about Skyline sucked....jeez.

What irritates me in some movies is wrong gun handling, and gun shot noises that don't even match the gun that's being fired ( Resident Evil: Afterlife, I'm looking at you). And people going on expeditions without being properly eqiupped at all...anyone seen Welcome to the Jungle? Probably the dumbest and most boring horror movie of all time.

Four Australians set off into the jungle, without proper maps, proper clothes, tiny backpacks and maybe enough water for a couple of hours. They plan on spending almost a week in the jungle...fucking stupid!
Things and stuffs...and other important objects.

I DESPISE when a movie is so hamfistedly editted that you can see where they cut out an entire plot line, badly.

Moreso when scenes that were in the trailer don't make it into the movie, thus making it even more obvious.

Badly faked accents. Especially british ones. They're like the easiest ones of all too. How does a director hire an actor who can't fake a decent accent when they're casting a film requiring the actor to be a brit? Totally ruins it for me every time.


No 2 thing that i noticed on my LOTR rewatch.

Every time they arrive at a place, the camera zooms in on somebody's face and they're like "THE MINES OF MORIA" or "THE PLAINS OF ROHAN" or "MORDOR" to the other quest-mates with some idiotic awestruck expression on their face and a half-whispery voice inflection.

The line is just completely unnecessary and contrived....think if you were driving around with a buddy and you arrive at the mall and he's like "THE MALL" and you're like "yep, it sure is retard, let's go". Or you're on a trip to mexico and your wife gets off the plane and looks around saying "MEXICO" and you're like "yes honey, that's the name of the country we're in, anything else brilliant to say?"

A small subtitle is a perfectly legitimate way to circumvent lines like that.

Along the same lines: people in movies who stick up their thumbs when they're using Glocks or the like...such a bad idea!

Also, dual-wielding. It is pointless really. You want hit jack shit. You'll look cool, but you'll be dead.

Also also, why do people always throw their guns away when they're out of ammo..you can probably find more on the way to wherever the hell it is you're going! And in movies, some guns seem to have a lot more ammo stored than what is physically possible. Like revolvers. Most of them are six-shooters, yet they often seem to be able to fire up ten to twelve rounds...which is a litte strange.Unless you're this guy:

Also also also, why are people in zombie movies so damn retarded, and why the hell do they never loot or scavenge properly? And melee weapons is always a poor idea when dealing with zombies...I mean, the viurs is highly contagious. I would think that you would want to stay as far away from them as possible.

The way the movies, in general (with only a few exceptions) deal with pot.

Pot smokers are generally stunned, lazy and hungy. Full stop. It makes you feel happy, but you don't get blurry vision, time doesn't go into slow-mo, you don't hallucinate and it doesn't generally motivate people to go on massive adventures. They don't all talk like hippies from 1965 either. Get it right guys. C'mon now.

Isn't pot mainstream enough that folks can just put it in movies without it being completely over the top and stupid?

Regarding the Nick Cage hate going on in this thread. Is it the actor you hate or the movies he stars in? Honestly, he's made a lot of shitty films, but despite how crappy they are I always enjoy watching Cage at work. The guy is entertaining and he steals the scene. Kicks Ass? He's only surpassed by Hit Girl. The Sorcerors Apprentice? Him and Molina made that crap fest enjoyable. The Wicker Man? The guy punches women in the face left and right, he's fucking awesome. And that "beeeeees!!!" scene was so fucking amazing.

And I will second Gothos mention of Kiss of Death. That was probably the first film I ever saw with him, if you haven't seen it you should. It also stars David Carusso and Samuel L Jackson from back before any of the two became proper stars. There's a scene in that film where Cage punches a guy to death. Like litterally paints the inside of a room red from the arterial spray of all the punching he is doing... Then there is the scene where he is benchpressing a stripper... or that scene where he is crying and dancing and going nuts because his father died. So knocks some random passer by the fuck out.

I will never forgive him for that shit fest "The Ghost Rider" but I love Nick Cage.

For me it's the actor. I like films he's in despite him being in them. I liked Ghost Rider because they did the visuals so well and I'm a total sucker for comic adaptations
