I can't possibly see how this would be a town power. it is deffo not in the town't interest to obfuscate the CF.
I'm inclined to think it was a scum move. which then opens several possibilities.

1) it was a passive ability, posessed by HP and triggered upon his death
2) HP was scum, and his symp used the CF scrambler to confuse things.
3) CF scrambler was meant to be applied at the end of th day, regardless of who was lynched.

I only have a couple of minutes again. The forum was most definitely down. I tried several times to get on and the front page wouldn't even load.

I agree with you Amp that is all of the possible scenarios for the use of a smoke screen. Well you could change symp to partner but that would be it. In two of them HP is scum. Which gives us a 66% in which to work to try to find out who the other scum are.

I don't know if he is scum or not. Just that HP was referring to his post earlier. I actually haven't seen anything that would make me suspicious of our power shortage friend. Who I hope is far away from the radiation winds.

Nope not in Japan. We just had a fairly serious wind storm that knocked down a bunch of power lines that took a while to get fixed. I'm currently in the middle of a catch up and am making the mistake of watching basketball so I'm not geting very far at the moment. Damn there have been some great games today.

Yeah this sums up the CF problem nicely. The question now is what to do about it. The whole "Barg defending/symping Kalse" theory doesn't really work for me, there's not enough to go on. However Barg has implicated himself in other ways, notably the Omtose->HP train. Omtose has also been quiet since the lynch, and someone else said that we could still get valuable info from an Omtose lynch, and I agree. GL doesn't really spark my scumdar like others have been saying. Yeah, he's been hopping around, but he also seems to be acting in town's best interests, switching votes when he needs to and recently providing some good analysis. So I tend to think the earlier oddness in his posts was Day 1 spam combined with an aggressive play style.

Seriously did you see the Morehead game against Louisville. WOW. Louisville was favored by 9 1/2. The butler and ODU game was pretty intense too. Good start.

Yeah, the Kalse Barghast connection doesn't seem to be all that strong. While the Barghast defense of HP is pretty evident.

I am down for a Barghast Lynch. The only issue is that he was blantant of his support for HP. Meaning probable symp. Which means a worthless CF.

An Omtose lynch would be effective in that we could see what possible CF scum was trying to hide. If he comes back inno, I think we can say pretty clearly that HP was scum with Barghast as his possible symp.

At this time those are the 2 most vaible lynches that would net us the most info.

Okay one thing that I noticed after the resolution of Night 2. Osseric was killed not Omtose? Why is everyone saying that Omtose was killed?

That's true, I forgot his post times have been so regulated... Still, his CF could give us info about the pre-HP train, so I'm not opposed to voting Omtose. This is only if you assume it's 33% for each of his stated scenarios to be true... you can't go and base your play on those kinds of assumptions.

Lynching me isn't going to accomplish much, but you could be on to something that maybe scum thought Omtose was going to be lynched and wanted to hide *his* CF...

This is true and I had thought about that. BUT, if it was a scum ability to be used on an inno CF how would it go about being activated? Do the scum have to put it in as a day action? If so it was meant to cover Omtose's death as he was at L-1 and this is an iron man game where all actions can only be submitted once. You have to assume that at the point Omtose was at L-1 most actions were in. So we are left with:

HP was Scum and had an ability that covered his CF
HP was inno and a scum ability meant for Omtose was used on HP after the crazy turn around.

Of the both options, option one seems more likely.

Speculating on when or why the ability was activated is irrevelant. The ablility to hide a CF has to be an agent ablility as it hurts the Syndicate's ablility to gather info. The Syndicate has to go with the assumption that we lynched a Syndicate member as that is the WCS.
