and as far as i can tell, everyone was pretty much all in before the comunity cards, you cant bluff without betting big and as they were already all in how would they scare anyone away?

So if your life is wagered and lost, do you just switch factions? Or do you die and your money is forfeited to the winner of the pot?
I'm surprised that Zakalwe bet 50 credits before seeing the flop... That's a really aggressive move, regardless if he's bluffing or not. And if Omtose is right and everyone ended up going all in after that first round of betting, then my guess is that this was Zakalwe's intention. Either he's got a pocket pair and is trying to push his advantage, or he's bluffing and wanted to force a confrontation early on, hopefully giving himself equal odds against the other two rather than wait for the next hand and chance someone else getting lucky. Either way, he must think going all-in benefits him somehow...
Regardless, this hand is tense, the winner is going to have a massive advantage over the other factions.
If the Barghast-avatar-FM theory is correct, it was way too easy to spot.
EDIT: Formatting.

Well, I think the writings on the wall for Tiam. He's not my leader, and being part of the lynch train is beneficial, so
Vote Tiam

Vote Barghast
Bet 3 coins
Not based on "luck" but rather firstly the avatar changing, two hours ago he had a Barghast head, now he has a desert. There is a faceless man that we are trying to find and this is a good enough reason for me. Plus his posts about being confused and finally because of his lower posts, trying to avoid notice? well he isn't the lowest poster but he is down there too. A few reasons there.
I didn't like a couple of peoples posts at the beginning but that was more personal preference than cause to vote on the whole.
Back in the morning.

Well, that was a waste. Betting 3 coins and using your vote because I changed my avatar? The mask picture was ugly and old, and besides I'm supposed to be the Barghast Warren, so a picture of plains and mountains, with a slightly magical-looking pink sky seemed appropriate. Admit it, it is much nicer looking.

This is interesting and it looks like someone is steering away from Tiamatha before the mob can descend. Tiam aint my leader so.....

Tiam aint your leader huh. Well Sil it appears you've just revealed yourself as a second since they are the only ones who would know their leader. Or worse you ARE a leader. You might just be a confused life but not reading the rules carefully is hardly an excuse and we probably won't let it slip. I sure hope you're not on my team! (>**)>

With Rash's vote I don't think we even have the leftover votes to lynch someone other than Tiam even if we wanted to at this point.
So, no sense wasting time

Crapola....I fucked that up too. He might be my leader, I just don't know him. I forgot that the person we're given in the PM is someone in the faction, not necessarily the leader...
Um... if I just helped to lynch my leader
I need to read more carefully.

huh?
if you're the second, you don't vote the person you know, cuz that's the leader
if you're the life, you wait for second to vote. and then vote whoever he votes, since he ain't gonna vote tle leader.
it's not that hard to not fuck that up, lol

Alright, long day at uni, so apart from reading the thread in first lec, I had to disappear and pay attention.
Thoughts so far: betting early is a risky move, as people who see you pushing a vote will be suspicious - either you know someone important, and can therefore vote elsewhere with impunity, or you are independent or don't care - and the other risk is that you're voting early, so therefore other players will vote elsewhere just to deny you credits. Interesting difficulties in starting trains, but once they are going, they should progress faster towards completion. At least until faction lines are more clearly drawn, if they become so.
The background betting game is interesting, but it's a weird cut-down Texas Hold 'Em, mixed with certain strategic plays to do with the lives. Confusing, but mostly ancillary to the majority of us as we have no control or influence over the game. :S
The lynching bets are also going to be hard to figure out, as once a certain number of players have voted, it becomes harder and harder to get a lynch due to the inability to change votes. Throw on top of that, the issue of a participating player withholding their vote! If someone is playing, but not voting, day could conceivably never end. Delaying day in this fashion...not sure what benefit it would have, but it could be employed deliberately.

Awesome. I'm going to get lynched for no reason whatsoever. Or rather, the 'He's not my leader' argument which shows effing bad reading comprehension. Awesome, so not just no reason except 'COOOOOOINNSSS' but also people who haven't read their Role PM and either made a slip (in which case my death will have a positive effect unless my own second is also someone who reads his/her role PM diagonally) - or now run the risk of voting their captain. Just fucking peachy.
Listen, you fucking dummies. The goal of Lives is to try and identify opponents who may be in other factions, and to try and find the FM. Well, guess what, a lynch day 1 when there has been no change by the FM so trying to find him is, hey, what... a shot in the dark. Seconds and captains will try to stay alive as long as possible, I guess, to preserve their credit.
Also, the faster people die who are not the FM, the easier it will be for him to capture a captain.
But oh well.
Awesome, this. Reminds me of Heroes 2, where no-one gave a fuck about lynching either. And got their asses kicked by the few people who did read their PM and understood the game.

17 Players still alive: ampelas, barghast, fener, galayn lord, hood's path, kalse, korabas, liosan, merrid, omtose, osseric, rashan, ruse, silanah, sorrit, tellan, tiamatha
9 votes to lynch, 9 votes to go to night.
1 Vote for ampelas ( galayn lord )
7 Votes for tiamatha ( korabas, silanah, omtose, hood's path, rashan, barghast, osseric )
1 Vote for silanah ( tiamatha )
1 Vote for barghast ( ampelas )
Players not voted: fener, kalse, liosan, merrid, ruse, sorrit, tellan

Zakalwe enjoyed the senastion of watching his opponents squirm beneath the weight of fifty credits. A fortune of money built up over years as a war monger thrown ont he turn of a few stupid cards, he couldnt believe it when he had thrown them down. he could beleieve his own audacity until he remember what a total shit he was and how risk was the only thing that dragged him out of bed. Well apart from guilt of course. He laughed without moving a muscle or expelling a breath, this was genius, there sno way they would out bet him now.
A large set of chips appeared in front of kraiklyn, and an even larger set on the side for Jernau and suddenly that big hefty fortune of credits in front of zakalwe didnt seem like so much anymore. It was a pity they didnt allow him to bring a gun, he could shot something right about now, preferably Jernau.
Kriaklyn has bet 20 credits.
Zakalwe has held.
Jernau has bet 30 credits.
Kraiklyn must pay ten to call, Zakalwe must pay 30.
9 votes to lynch, 9 votes to go to night.

- four 8s, highly unlikly that someone has a pocket pair of 8's but you never know
- full house kings over 8's - again some one would have to have a pocket pair of kings
- full house 8's over kings/6's/2's -some one would need to have an 8 in there hold cards and one of the other 3 cards
- three of a kind 8's -an 8 in there hold cards with another random card, the higher the random card the better
- two pair - either a pocket pair in your hold cards or just having either a king a 6 or a 2 in your hold cards
- a pair of 8's + high cards
well you could have full house, 2s over 8s, 6s over 8s too
