And so the hour is upon us. We're off to see the Wizard. I'm so excited about tonight, it's like all the most epic endings have been a focus for this one.
I find I'm so excited I can barely sit still or hold a thought in my head. I think it's the excitement only an Erikson fan can feel. A fan at the end of a long journey - who's conclusion is still uncertain.
For the second time in my life I am guilty of getting over-excited (the first time was at the signing two books ago). I don't doubt he'll have lots of plot twists for an old fan like me.
I hope I can make it across the border (...of the Arndale, and down to Waterstones). I hope to see Mr. Erikson again and shake his hand. I hope this book is as awesome as it has been in my dreams.... I hope.....
"Well Mr Erikson,"
"Bauchelain."
"have the bhederin stopped screaming?"
"Where are you Bauchelain"
"I have no plans to call on you Mr Erikson, the world is a more interesting place with you in it - so I do hope you can extend me the same courtesy."
"You know I can't make that promise."
"I do wish we could talk longer Mr Erikson but I'm reading an old friend after dinner.... bye..."
"Last night we said a great many things. You said I was to do the thinking for both of us. Well, I've done a lot of it since then, and it all adds up to one thing: you're getting on that plane with your publicist where you belong."
"But, George, no, I... I..."
"Now, you've got to listen to me! You have any idea what you'd have to look forward to if you stayed here? Nine chances out of ten, we'd both wind up reading Terry Goodkind. Isn't that true, Brood?"
"I'm afraid Abyss would insist."
"You're saying this only to make me go."
"I'm saying it because it's true. Inside of us, we both know you should be plugging your book across the pond. You're work is a part of us, the thing that keeps us going. If that plane leaves the ground and you're not on it, you'll regret it. Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow, but soon, and for the rest of your life."
"But what about you?"
"We'll always have rereads".
"Say hello to my hardbacked friend!"
(and unedited:) "You're a fucking star!"
And all that's left is to cue the Star Wars ending music.
See you in Waterstones in a couple of hours folks. =D

Really Whispwerzzzzzzzz? (It's hard to count the "zzzz"s.") You turned me to reading Leo about the state of fantasy but you can't read a post with both book series references and board references? Come now, Abyss must object.
-Hurts like an American at a SE signing.....wait...thats me...Whiskey?

Speak truth, grow still, until the water is clear between us.

Oh, I get it. These are all movie quotes that you've edited to refer to MBotF?
