All good things must come to an end. I'm dreading and very much looking forward to this particular end. It has been a long, arduous and wonderful journey, one that I'm extremely happy that I started on all those years ago. I have laughed, I have cried, I have cursed your name and I have been...inspired. So I thank you, mr Erikson, for the good times, the bad times, the visions, the dreams, the friends I've made. In short, thank you for everything.

I won't make it to the book signings, which is, perhaps, just as well. I feel I might punch you right in the face, most respectfully of course, as I'm still not quite over certain events in DoD.

I will, however, send someone in my place, who I'm fairly certain won't punch you at all. So, if you see a thin, gaunt fellow at the signing in London (I think) asking you to sign the book to a name that is clearly not his own, that'll be me.....by proxy.

I do hope I'll get to meet you in person some day, in a non-stalker-y kind of way, of course:P

I get the punchy in the face bit, all to well.
HAIL THE MARINES!

I as well came late to this show, never was a lurker, just jumped in. EveryOne here seemed very inviting.
All be because you started a series of books that took us by complete suprise, fantasy is no longer the same because of what you accomplished. Its forever. Changed for me. And i do thank you for that, i havent had this much fun reading in a very long time.
Maybe it was my nonna passing recently but i got a little choked up reading this and lots of the reponses.
Thank you, and i hope to see you back in the great white north(ontario though) for a signing

Wow. Not only has the man written my all-time favorite fantasy book(s), he seems to sincerely care for his readers and fans. He is a class act!

Mr Erikson, thank you for the best hours of reading I have ever experienced. You are the man and have set the bar to the stars. The lives and loves, deaths and final endings of your characters touched me as no other live or fiction ever has. I look forward to reading all the other Malazan related books, knowling dear friends are just a re-read away.

...I also feel rather humbled by all this. having come late to the game and only last week finding this website I feel I have missed the fun. Currently on the fourth book and i find that I am not even halfway, which thrills me to no end, knowing I will have many good reads ahead. At first I was thinking that these works were comparable to The Black Company series and A Game of Thrones, but I do enjoy them more than anything else. You have done wonderfully sir, not just in writing books, but in drawing us into a world, letting us live precariously thru your characters, whether we love or hate them. I create digital art and you have definitely provided me with so much inspiration. I would like to think that this isnt an ending, but merely a passage. An HBO series perhaps? A feature film? PC games? Along with the others i`ll say thank-you, for what youve done, for what you`ll do, and for all the good times ahead.
