I figured that out Artanthos, but you got it from a Facebook sort of Tor giveaway is what I was implying. Not the current one which is also giving out 5 copies.

End: If you have the Tor.com Facebook feed, it's easy to miss stuff they post. They post a LOT each day, so much so that sometimes they'll post like three things in a row. Facebook "helpfully" will hide some of it so you're not too inundated with it.

What this translates to is that when a Tor post comes up about the new Thor movie trailer or something, underneath it there will be a thing that says "Show 5 more posts by Tor.com." If you didn't expand that and see those other posts you may well have missed the giveaway, as they only announced it in one regular post.

a map, or even a confirmation thereof, on the other hand, would be pure ambrosia :p

We've got a close up map of Kolanse. I can't remember if that was in DoD, as well...I don't have my copy handy.

As far as the DP goes, you can really tell that this was supposed to be one book in two.
