Ha, just thinking that maybe it was Braven Tooth who named Kindly "Kindly" as hes the least Kind man in the whole Malazan force.
Would like to read a scene with those two in it! Basic malazan training scene would be great.

Since the scene where Torvald and Karsa met up in TTH, the idea of Fist Kindly is my new big must have in the series.

Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

This casts a whole new light on how the book jacket blurb says "the army totters on the edge of mutiny." What if the ENTIRE final volume was dedicated to Tavore's promotion of Kindly to Fist, and the consequent outrage and disorder. No mention of the Crippled God. No mention of the Forkrul Assail. Just 900+ pages of Bonehunters bitching about Kindly in the middle of the Wastelands.
