Also, HP i haven't forgot about you. Silly man of death. Your indignation at my pressuring of you actually make me second guess my wonderful insights into you allegiance. I will back burner you for now... but only for now. Also @HP... nice OMGUS vote :unworthy:

Hah, considering Osseric tried to call me a math failure yesterday and put heat on me, I'd be quite pleased if you removed him from the game.

I said Omtose had a partner in the sense that he could have been part of some vig partnership.

I voted for Omtose because Osseric had two votes and then nobody seemed inclined to vote for him. We had some hours, forum downtime included, where there was very little activity after the two quick votes for Osseric and clearly nobody felt it was worth voting. Below are quotes from HP and Liosan who basically agreed that Omtose overreacted to Osseric.

Was the forum down for anyone else? I couldn't get for the last two hours or so.

Omtose, I'm not sure where you are coming from. Osseric says in the post that you quoted he was talking about people finding out who their partners are. The bit that says

Quote

there may very well be an ability that relates to discovering who someone is chained to

Granted Osseric wasn't as precise as he could have been in referring to what might change, but his explanation didn't leave anything lacking. Panicking a bit with Amp's vote against you?

And Tellan, you might want to state your assumptions before you say something like we have a 1 in 2 chance of getting scum with the collar mechanic. That post read very weird.

View PostLiosan, on 19 January 2011 - 06:29 PM, said:

did the forums go down for anyone else? I haven't been able to get here for a few hours now. Very odd because it looks like people have been posting recently. oh well. I am back.

Since it is clear that no one is going to do the smart thing and vote for Hoods path( you will look back on me in awe once SH is reached), then I will gladly vote for Osseric. Why? Because after 2 votes, with 9 needed he is showing a bit of over reaction at 2 votes. I don't really think the case has merit... and that could be why he is over reacting a tad.

Also, I could vote for Omtose. After Silanah starts it, Omtose does what he has wanted to do all along and vote Osseric.

Of the 2 I am more inclined to go with an Omtose vote.

BUT...

leaving my vote on HP for now in hopes that you folks will see the light ( or dark as the case may be) he is clearly scum.

Now I figure anybody could get lynched on Day 1, but I had a choice between the guy who attacked me (Osseric) and the guy who I thought made a typical townie error by focusing on a few random comments (Omtose). Neither one was good, but I have a habit of not knee-jerk voting for someone just because they pressured me. Ultimately, I didn't care too much because a lynch is a lynch and every lynch is > 2x the chance of getting scum. It may have been one less vote on a Day 1 case, but the HP and Liosan posts made me feel that we already had two votes for Omtose waiting in the wings and thus he was an easier guy to lynch.

read the rules post

shin even under lined it

no one knows who is on there collar, the scum may know who the other scum are, but from the op I'm not to sure, but even if the scum know whose on which team, they have just as much chance of hitting the person chained to themselves as hitting a RI-RI chain

View PostOsseric, on 19 January 2011 - 12:21 PM, said:

There's nothing that says that can't change though, there may very well be an ability that relates to discovering who someone is chained to, but we can't be sure of that at this point, so we must operate on the information supplied, which is nobody knows who anybody is chained to.

EDIT - added last clause and changed wording of first clause

Oh hey look at no point are you or him referring to peoples ignorance changing. In fact looking at it in the correct light makes it even more scummy. That and your defense really leave something lacking.

Vote Osseric

Sil you need to bold.

Osseric couldn't add 2 and 2 to save his life, but your attack is pretty pathetic. I think Osseric's post reads perfectly clearly and you are drawing way too much out of it for Day 1.

Asking a question on why you voted Omtose is not getting tunnel vision for one guy, I have had quite a few posts looking at different areas and connections. I thought that your vote was off and the other vote that was weird was Rashan's if I remember correctly

Looking at the cases and reason for voting Fener and Rashan stick out to me. Fener because he though Omtose looked innocent but voted for him anyway and Rashan because he said he had no choice. If either of these voted elsewhere then there could have well been a different lynch. I agree we need to lynch everyday but we could at least have a reason for doing so.

ok so looks like we managed to lynch omtose with about 7 votes in 2 hours :unworthy: Il wait till we get the result back and night ends, but there definitely seems to be something going on near the start of that train.

This could be a good reason for him to get killed. If scum don't know each other then he could have made other scum look his way when he wrote this. If Fener was scum for example and Amp is pointing in his direction then Fener might choose to take him out. This smacks of WIFOM though

However there was a little descrepancy between HP and Ampelas at the beginning

Just in those posts alone there was implications with other people, Rashan's vote and reasons, and HP against Ampelas at the start.

Me professing support for weak day 1 lynches (in contrast to no-lynch day 1s) is somehow signalling in response to a post from Amp stating he finds the train fishy? You're going to have to give a more elaborate explanation of how those two have any sort of connection whatsoever, sherlock.

If I were to vote for someone else, I doubt it would have resulted differently. The only other option would have been Osseric, but unless you know something we don't, then that doesn't change anything (there was very little condemning evidence against either one). It was better to get a lynch, even if there was only a really weak case against Omtose to begin with. In essence, I doubt any of us were really convinced that Omtose was definitely scum. Fener voted for the same reason as those involved in the later half of the train. It was stated several times that a lynch on day one was a good thing, even if the chance of lynching an inno. was high. The silver lining here is that though Omtose was innocent, we may still manage to knock off a scum via exploding collar.

No, the silver lining is that we managed to speed-lynch Vengeance (again) while he was offline, thereby avoiding a potential slur-filled diatribe as he insulted all of our mothers.

I find it a bit odd that with supposedly most abilities relating to the collars, we seem to have had the expected number of activations (I'm assuming the little line about a light turning on = activation). I would've thought the abilities would either activate extra ones or prevent their activation. Then again, it could just be blind luck that they didn't affect anything last night, or there might not be many roles at all.

There are no clues in scenes, as Shin already explained.

It is Day 1.

16 Players still alive: Ampelas, Barghast, Fener, Galayn Lord, Hood's Path, Kalse, Korabas, Liosan, Merrid, Omtose, Osseric, Rashan, Ruse, Silanah, Sorrit, Tellan

9 votes to lynch, 8 votes to go to night.

2 Votes for Osseric ( Silanah, Omtose )
1 Vote for Fener ( Hood's Path )
9 Votes for Omtose ( Ampelas, Fener, Tellan, Ruse, Liosan, Rashan, Kalse, Osseric, Merrid)

Players not voted: Barghast, Galayn Lord, Korabas, Sorrit

Omtose did not even protest weakly as the frightened mob descended on her. She sat in a dull silence, eyes wide and uncomprehending as the rope wound around her neck. Afterwards, the mob decided she deserved it anyways, since she didn't even struggle.

Too bad she was innocent.

Omtose (Vengeance) is Dead. He was an innocent schoolgirl Somewhere inside a collar of another student under plastic and silicon, a little red light went on....

Resolving night...

That's not all that surprising, considering the typical fear of lack-of-day-1 lynches. I wholly support the motion!

Possibly sorritt signalling looking at what you have there.

It does look like signalling, but to what end? Sorrit signals Amp but then kills him? A third killer kills him? If the scum don't know each other, there are too few kills. Only one killing role who doesn't know who the rest of his team are doesn't feel right, given how killing innos can already possibly turn around and bite scum in the ass. I don't see a game where the majority of NK targets will detrimentally affect scum, since they can not only hit the unknown scum's partners but also the unknown scum themselves. Occam says there is a simpler solution, although I'm not sure what it is.

Tellan, I think you are playing a little naively. No one realistically expects to hit scum day one. It's maybe a little bit silly to talk about how the person who you are voting for is probably innocent, but I don't think anyone was convinced Omtose was scum.

Lio, if you are scum, you're fucking smooth... You almost made me remove my vote, but once again you've targeted someone else while mentioning how you think I am scummy.

following my own methodology, I loked at Omtose's train. it was Ruse's 4th vote that made the momentum inevitable. I'd be inclined to look there for scum.
my righteous anger is blunted, however, by the fact that Ruse sounds like he's on his deathbed in that post.

I have no desire to come and read a 20-post rant from a guy who insults everyone, threatens to "ruin" it, and so forth.

I also propose we hereby ban the word smooth from all Mafia games.
