Full List of All Role PMs

**Mods note - not all of these will be used in the game and not all this information will be placed in the opening post**

Tin: (Tineye)

Alignment:

You are allomancer of House Venture/Elariel/Deveaux

The Mistborn of your house is X

Your allomantic power is the ability to burn Tin, the internal physical pulling metal. Burning Tin greatly enhances your physical senses, allowing you to see through the mists and observe your target.

Equipment:

3 Pieces of Tin

Actions:

On any night you may submit to the mods that you wish to swallow one piece of Tin, along with a target. You will then use your enhanced senses to follow your target after they leave the ball in order to determine their faction.

Should your action fail for any reason your metal will still count as having been burnt.

**Mod's note: Should the tineye target a Mistborn or SI, their action will fail. As with being guarded their action will simply return no result**

Pewter: (PewterArm)

You are allomancer of House Venture/Elariel/Deveaux

The Mistborn of your house is X

Your allomantic power is the ability to burn Pewter, the internal physical pushing metal. Burning Pewter greatly enhances your physical strength and speed, allowing you to apprehend and overpower your target.

Equipment:

3 Pieces of Pewter

Actions:

On any night you may submit to the mods that you would like to swallow one piece of Pewter and a target. You will then use your enhanced physical prowess to apprehend and overpower your target, preventing them from performing any actions that night.

Your allomantic power is the ability to burn Iron, the external physical pulling metal. Burning Iron allows you to control metal objects, pulling them towards you.

Equipment:

Unlimited Iron pieces
One Wooden Shield

Actions:

Every night you will swallow one piece of iron. Should you be attacked by someone wielding a metal weapon you will pull it into your shield, destroying it in the process. You will be informed when your shield has been destroyed, at which time you will no longer burn Iron at night.

**Mod's note: The lurcher is unable to protect himself from being spiked by the SI, his BP protects him from Coinshots and Mistborn only**

Steel: (CoinShot)

Alignment

You are allomancer of House Venture/Elariel/Deveaux

The Mistborn of your house is X

Your allomantic power is the ability to burn Steel, the external physical pushing metal. Burning Steel allows you to control metal objects, pushing them away from you.

Equipment:

One Steel piece
One Coin

Should your action fail for any reason your metal will still be burnt

Zinc: (Rioter)

Alignment:

The Mistborn of your house is X

Your allomantic power is the ability to burn Copper, the internal mental pulling metal. Burning Copper allows you to hide your allomantic power and those of the people around you from someone burning Bronze.

Equipment:

Unlimited Copper pieces

Actions:

Every night you will swallow a piece of Copper. Your allomantic power and those of any person that performs an action against you will be hidden from a seeker.

Bronze: (Seeker)

The holder of your contract is the Mistborn X

After ingesting the corpse of a human, you are able to remodel your flesh around the corpse's bones, mimicking their appearance.

Actions:

Should the holder of your contract wish it, he will provide a corpse for you to ingest and impersonate. You will be provide the name of the target one night before the corpse is delivered in order for you to study them fully.

Mistborn:

Alignment:

You are the Mistborn of House Venture/Elariel/Deveaux

You hold the contract of the Kandra X

You are a Mistborn, the most influencial member of your house, due to your ability to burn all known allomantic metals.

Equipment:

Two pieces of Tin
Two pieces of Pewter
Unlimited pieces of Iron
Three pieces of Steel
Single piece of Zinc
Single piece of Brass
Unlimited pieces of Copper
Two pieces of Bronze
Single piece of Atium

Actions:

Each night you may submit to the mods the combination of metals that you wish to swallow (excluding Atium), as well as the targets for each metal's allomantic effect should it have one. Each allomantic metal is used in the same manner as it would be by a Misting, with the following exceptions:

You may not burn Copper and Bronze simultaneously.
You dont not require a shield to protect yourself using Iron.

Burning Atium allows you to see all the possible actions someone might make in the immediate future. You will keep your Atium on your person and only use it in the following situations: If an attempt on your life is made by another Mistborn or a member of the Steel Inquisition, if a recruitment attempt is made on you by a member of the Steel Inquisition or if you attempt to take the life of a member of the Steel Inquisition.

If you wish, you may have your Kandra impersonate someone that you have killed. However, you must give your Kandra sufficient warning and must submit the name of the intended victim to mods the night before the kill and subsequent impersonation takes place. The mods will relay the message to your Kandra. You may not attempt to kill on a night that you submit an impersonation order to the mods.

If you attempt to take the life of a member of the Steel Inquisition, their role will be revealed to you. Should you not have Atium and die in the attempt, it will be revealed to your Kandra.

Steel Inquisitor:

Alignment:

You are a member of the Steel Inquisition.

Equipment:

Unlimited Steel Spikes
Unlimited Bronze Spikes

Actions:

You have access to all the hemalurgic equivalent allomantic powers, and you may submit a combination of any three to be used each night to the mods, as well as the target of each power should it have one. You will perform the equivalent of burning Copper every night by default. Should you use the equivalent to Steel, you attempt to kill your target using either a Bronze or Steel spike. The successful completion of a kill results in the creation of a hemalurgically charged spike.

Once you have two or more hemalurgic spikes in your possession you may attempt to create another Inquisitor and swell your ranks. The type and placement of the spikes in your victim will determine the powers of the resulting Inquisitor. Steel spikes may imbue one of either iron, steel, tin or pewter per spike. Bronze spikes may imbue one of copper, bronze, brass or zinc per spike. You may choose to use more than two spikes if you wish to grant additional powers to your recruit, or place additional spikes in your recruit at a later stage. No other actions may be performed on the night that you places spikes. Your recruit will still have access to any allomantic powers they originally possessed, but their original powers will still be fueled by allomantic metals. Should you grant the ability to kill to your recruit he will be unable to use it unless you die. Your supply of spikes will be passed on to your first recruit in the event of your death.

Should your life be threatened at night, you will attempt to kill your attacker. This may result in your identity being revealed to your attacker, or a member of their faction. You can only be forced out of the game through a successful lynch. Your recruit will not have this ability.

**Mod's note: If a Seeker or Mistborn is given the hemalurgic equivalent of Bronze, their ability doubles up and they will be able to pierce Copperclouds**

alt, what's the current significance of the Lurcher not burning Iron after the shield is destroyed?

Is the current ruling of the Soother's ability that it completely negates the Rioter's ability, or just discounts one of the votes?

Why does the Mistborn burn Iron at all? It doesn't seem to do anything on its own.

Lurcher stops burning iron because his BP has been spent when his shield breaks. Pulling metal objects towards you (which is what iron lets you do) is not much of a defense against people shooting metal towards you.

Discounts one vote

Mistborn don't need a shield to defend themselves because they can control more than just iron. So they have a perma-BP against coinshots.

I will post the MM screencap as soon as I have the names of the three remaining players. Distribution looks good, factions are fairly balanced experience wise. Bent, Gwynn and Kurt as mistborn; Silencer as the SI :p

How does Silencer always get that kind of job?

I'm not sure how Kurt will do as the Mistborn... he's a pretty big rageaholic but he's very difficult to lynch off as a result. Bent is highly unstable, not sure he can win as a leader. I like Gwynn for this one.

Got a pm saying bubba can play, but only if he is a weak role since he will be an epic low poster. If no one has signed up by tomorrow I will give the last place to him. Else if someone else pops in you are welcome to start the game while I am away.

So, my understanding is that rioters and soothers will not exist, and the only ones able to use these metals are the Mistborn of each house, until a new SI is created and given the appropriate bronze spikes?
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Looking like that, yeah. Players don't get to know the house makeups, and they don't know about the Kandra at all.

We have 19, Breadmaster signed up. Sending out PMs.

Korvalain, on 19 October 2010 - 11:52 PM, said:

ok cool. So I have two questions off the bat,

Does everyone on my faction know that Thyrllan is the mistborn?

This gives faction only right? If I am following the tar

1) You don't know for sure. All the information you have is your role PM and the posted PMs (which may be incomplete) in the main thread.

2) No! You are scared of the dark and as such, close your eyes whenever things get get scary, so you don't get to see that kind of stuff.

Ah ok, you certainly aren't trying to make this easy for my special skills. I like the setup though, the roles fit great with how Sanderson wrote them. (+points for flattery).

I will currently go with the idea that some, not all, members know who the mistborn is. Using that I will attempt to ID my faction based on who seems to be symping Thyr or not even noticing him.

I sleep without a light, therefore the night is not scary. But that mist is a different story, I can be ok with being afraid of that.

I love the dark. I love the dark. But, I hate nature! I hate nature!

We had fun designing the roles and trying to balance them. And, by we, I mean mostly PB and Alt. I provided mostly drunken ramblings.

Good luck with your strategy.

Honestly, this is how I'd approach the game. There so many different actions that will be happening, Night is going to be a cluster-fuck trying to analyze.

There are a few questions that need to be answered more definitively. The Iron one, I'm pretty sure I'm dead right on in its interpretation. As to whether a Mistborn can burn more than one of his pieces of each metal a night, I am not so sure on.

I have them underlined below.

First Mistborn reporting in...

Oh, wow ... powerful but in a fuckall complicated fashion. I'll need more to drink. Of course, I'll probably just get randomly lynched on Day 1, so this is likely to go to waste.

The wording of the Kandra thing forces me to ask - I have to give the Kandra the order to impersonate on say, Night 2, but can't do the Kill until Night 3?

And Atium sounds a lot like a one-shot BP, correct? Because it doesn't look like I actually choose when to use it. If I use Iron, does the Atium get pre-empted, and not used up?

1. Drinking is always a good option.

2. You decide on Night 2 you want your Kandra to impersonate X. You can't kill that night because you are giving the order. On night 3 you actually kill and give the Kandra X's body.

3. You can't control your Atium. I'll flag the iron question for you.

A mistborn would simply pull all iron weapons towards them, and then discard them yes? So it functions as an unlimited BP against coin-shots, right?

Third and final Mistborn checking in...

Gamelon, on 20 October 2010 - 01:20 AM, said:

Hmm, most interesting. Easily the most important role I have had, let's see if I can stay off of everyone's radar as long as I did last game. I assume all house leaders have a Kandra, so trust will be shortlived.

Had a question or two from reading the rules as well. Can the same metal be used twice in the same night?

I am under the presumption that you can only use one piece of each metal a night, but I'll flag it just in case.

Followed by the first provisionals:

Forgot to add, provisional to burn iron and copper tonight. That will likely be added to, but I can think of no reason not to do both every night I am not using bronze.

Noted.
