Yeah, it's the cover to one of the SFBC omnibus editions. The motivational poster mod ramps up the awesome, though.

one of the bestest moments in the series very nicely captured right there.
i've seen it before, but the text does add a fun note to it.

And yes, it IS always like that, more or less...

I envy you what you're about to read for the first time - the finale of SK is probably the first massive, over-the-top, holy crap, all that and the kitchen sink moment where Butcher doesn't just raise his game so much as fucking ascend it to a whole other level of wow.

Got the GF into Dresden at the start of the year. She just borrowed Death Masks from me when she was here last week. Another soul for the master! :p

Seeing Abyss' answer here...

I do SOLIDLY hope that GF meant Girlfriend and not Grandfather.

It's an excellent read, and the stories are very interesting (though depending on your interpretation of the word, 'filler', they could be, I guess...but if so, they are damn good filler). HOWEVER.

They take place up to, and indeed after Changes. The last one is like a post-Changes epilogue-type thing. So you DO NOT WANT TO READ THIS if you're only up to Dead Beat. You'll probably want to read it eventually, however.

(Yeah, my reply to your post apparently got nuked too)

ok so my post here was erased...I ll try to retype it. I was in BAM the other day and saw an HC ed of Side Jobs. Well I didnt read cover for fear of spoiling potential advancde plot. So can someone tell me what this book is in HTR ONLY IF these stories take place BEFORE Dead Beat? How many stories is it? Is it worth the read or just filler etc?

Before each story it tells you when it takes place, so I'm reading the stories in between the books where they take place. There are only two stories that take place before Dead Beat, and one hardly even qualifies as a short story. In total there are around 10 or so stories.
