btw, Tapper, great vig Kill scene

fro future reference, though, the Vindicare shouldn't have spare guards to run around, these are supposed to be the last survivors....
next time just say it was a bunch of Servitors that removed the body.

k, the thread's quiet, since it's dinner time and all, i'll go take a nap.

Upon further reflection, it hits me:

Shin you have been executed for perceived insubordination.

Which is like one of the most common causes of death in the Imperium.

and it was a comissar, to boot.

this game is totally in line with canon, lmao!

Lol. Get a lot of players in there and people start doing crazy shit.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Ah, silly humans
little do they know that Necrons cannot be manipulated.

If I was Korvalain, i'd start targetting everyone that spoke of allying with the Necrons.

also, some thoughts from our medic:

OK, so my first note is that this is going to be tricky - it really feels like the Reality Dysfunction game, with so many different win conditions and the possibility of possessions.

I don't like Olar Ethil and someone else (I'll have to go back and check) trying to act like they're Jesters - I just don't buy it. Olar Ethil is the best Day 1 lynch target.

No fucking clue about Silanah, though it was probably a case of "Well, it doesn't matter who I Vig on day one, may as well just do it." Definitely a Killer who doesn't care who he hits.

If Kalse doesn't draw any unwanted attention, I may just Heal myself tonight. Selfish, yes, but it might necessary to save myself for later. Not the way a Healer usually plays, not covering their leaders, but with so many people still left, I think Kalse is safe for at least one Night. I suspect he should know everyone in our squad, but that's not a given. What is a given is our squad number, which means I can signal him if I need to, because squad numbers weren't mentioned in thread. So, 4th of 10th? Should be easy to work "fourth" into casual conversation, maybe talking about the fourth vote out of ten while responding to something Kalse says, and hopefully whoever else is in the squad will catch on.

And the squad will be either three or four total - there are apprently three squads, so any more would really make Town too large, especially with higher level RPs also out there (Commissar? And someone else, I think). Hopefully the squad leaders will know who their superiors are, but that would probably make it waaaay too easy for the Marines. So either Kalse knows his squad but not his superiors, or knows his superiors but not his squad. I think knowing both would be too rigged, but it all depends on how powerful the scum are.

Also, along those lines, I think a particularly fucked up future mechanic would be too have everyone in a faction get a PM early on which tells them everyone on their team ... but they think they're the only recipient of that information, and that the rest of their team is ignorant. Lots of desperate signalling and fake-symping and sacrifice lynches. That idea might need some refinement.

Actually, on a re-read, it just says "4th Company," not a squad number. But I'm pretty sure I can still make use of that as a signal.

i told him to stop trying to fish for info in the PM.

Looks a bit like I expected, but perhaps more TMDI than I did. Then again, the contingencies aren't drastic enough, and there aren't so many random variables, as to make it a higher rating. I couldn't tell you whether it is balanced, but it looks like a lot of fun to play. Lots of fun roles. Interested in seeing the newbs. Where did Roldom come from? He/she isn't in sign-up?

I would have enjoyed it, but I was conditional, and if someone else wants a definite go at it I had no problem with it.

Well, so much for being clever.

Anyways, I'm headed to bed, so my provisional is: Heal: Alkend

Hope Kalse doesn't draw fire, or I'm gonna look stupid for Healing myself.

For SH, Barghast and Rashan are looking very scummy. Korvalain annoyed me by pretending to reveal as a Jester, but he's probably just an Inno playing games. Still not sure about Olar Ethil.

and yeah, Roldom just PM-ed me asking if there was still a spot, he didn't go through the signups.

I have to give due respect to alt--he's found the perfect strategy of just questioning ebvery decision about factions, preventing the innos from getting theiract together and actually lokiing for someone..

I sometimes wonder about game-play. Then I think about what I'd do when hammered. And really fucking wonder. Lol.

Kalse/Silencer

Kalse, on 05 October 2010 - 07:53 AM, said:

Yes, I do...I think revealfests can fuck up a game, but they can also result in some awesome wifom. If the balance is right, it should leave everyone in as much of a bad position as before it begins. Like back in the Culture (<3) game...no idea who was who.

In fact, we haven't had a 3-way cult game for ages...I might work on a carbon-copy/spiritual-successor to Culture, actually. :D

Also, I'm totally going to draw attention for being a bit (read: remotely) knowledgeable about the lore, aren't I? Scum doesn't want that info out there, innos don't like distribution spec (and what I'm doing is close enough), and no-one likes days wasted discussing possible setups. *sigh*

I'm also uncomfortable being the primary resource for info. I love W40k, but I honestly don't spend enough time with any of it to be considered an 'authority' like an actual player would be. Even worse, you're using Dawn of War, and I forget how much that game messes with mechanics (I assume this scenario is based on the Dark Crusade expansion? I recognize the Necron element, lol) and lore.

Then you have the wording of the opening scene...'possession' is very FM, 5 possessions is a lot of work. Presumably, going by Vampires, you have paired FMs or something. Argh.

How...efficacious is my NK BP? Is that, as the name suggests, only night KILLS? Or is it night actions? Or all offensive night actions? I just check now to be cautious, you understand...

I'm enjoying the setup, though. :)

Kalse, on 05 October 2010 - 08:04 AM, said:

I'm also going to guess that D'riss is likely a Space Marine, if not Commissar Flemming. Specifically referenced 'Squad Leader' - and 'Squad Members' - but it's the former that gets my attention.

Would someone outside my faction suggest that people may know the squad leader? Or even reference a squad leader? I doubt it. That position wasn't even mentioned in the opening scene. Nor the exact composition of our faction ('surviving squads' was the closest).

Hopefully this is signaling. :D

should you sucessfully pull that off, you will then be able to choose 5 player names, and one of them will become the avatar of Khaine, to rain death upon all your enemies.
to help you in this, you are able to perform one kill, either during the day, or night.
between the two of you, you also have 1 Bullet Proof against a night kill.

Ohh just noticed the one kill thing, is that one kill in the whole game that we can use at any time? or is it a personal ability?

The kill is your personal ability. Only the BP is shared.

Any thoughts on provisionals?

Drek has been very quiet, so easy to imitate (I think that he is MTS based on the time he said good night). Anyone else? I think I should try take over GMT players and you jump into americans.

Ok you target Drek, and I will target Tulas. hows that sound?

Ampelas, on 05 October 2010 - 01:13 PM, said:

Is DKT playing in this game? I think he might be Tulas, in which case switching into him might not be a good idea. We will probably know in an hour or two.

hmm, dkt is going to find Eldar tonight.... I wonder how he'll play that?

also, the guards are completely useless this night, the human pred is killing his squad leader, and the healer is healing himself.

the only one who could possibly make this all better would be the Dude, who also has a find to do....

oh, and alt has latched onto dkt, and I have few doubts he'll try to FM him.
