There's a really enormous continent to the south.

Have just gone on again for the first time after the server move... and I'm awestruck, honestly. The airship dock and that whole area is amazing. I really love how one airship is coming into port, or appearing to be anyway. The lava lighthouse is also beautiful, especially at night. The whole town is really great.

Whoever is the one building that enormous cathedral (it's very imposing), there seem to be a bunch of mobs, including creepers, inside it right now.

What's that building with the minecart rails that lead into this gigantic pit?

I kinda feel like I'm not creative or industrious enough to be on here.

I'm situated in the middle of the ocean that's adjacent to Castle CF (SW of there) roughly East of Moon's Spawn, on two tiny little islets.

I'm pretty much a dwarf, so I'm all underground. Except I started a retarded project because I wanted to explore the seafloor. And I invented the greatest thing ever. Jack-o-lanters, with glass-panes on top (since glass-panes don't occupy a full block, you get airspace!) and have been peppering the area with them.

I found a small tropical island which I think is far enough away from people to be considered available, but it's hard to say.

The entire server seems to be down, not just the game. I'll message HOs chap but if server is kaput then I imagine that MC is the least of the guys worries!

Thanks for deopping there Messremb. I was chatting with Hakonw and OftenShadow and telling him to spread the word that opping friends and whitelisting friends through me was not allowed. I guess they didnt' get the message.

There is now a Banned-ops list, which was added in one of the recent updates. Adding names to that should prevent re-opping of anybody we don't want opped.

In general I have been giving OP powers to folks that have been on the server a long time and who use it frequently, including OftenShadow and Sirkus; they've been on for close to a year now. I guess it got out of control when those two opped the rest of their party, despite all of them being new additions to the server and then some of their party started whitelisting others without admin consent.

The point of opping so many regular users was to allow access to creative mode, not to allow unfettered access to the server for any op's friends and family. Not to say they can't have access, but I'd rather talk to them by email or on the forum first so I can at least give them the basic server rules and orientation.

Many people that use the server regularly are heavy builders (myself included) and get most of their enjoyment from constructing epic shit. So, I guess I'm still not entirely opposed to having a large OP list, but those that have been abusing it should definitely be banned from being OP.

What are others' thoughts on this? Messremb? I no longer pay to run the server so I don't feel like I can unilaterally decide things like this anymore.

I support you, CF. OP anybody you want, de-op or ban as needed. I was on last week and they were playing, but I saw no sign of OP powers being used so I imagine that happened after Wednesday.

I'll check on server issues, I was out of town last weekend (yay mini-vacation)

Well, before you get too established, there are some distant outposts. From Castle CF II (the spawn) if you travel due west you cross an ocean biome and some desert. There is very little built out that way. I think Obdi's place is out that way, maybe a few others have established bases there since, but in general that direction is empty. Travel a few thousand blocks in that direction and you will be totally isolated.

If you want to have space, but still be near others' creations, you can travel east via the road system and you'll end up in Messremb's town, my shantytown slightly to the north and ADL's giant replica creation centre. South of that area there is a big, relatively untouched place.

I bought it on xbox and my interest is back up, so I might play with you guys again if someone sends me the server info. Are you running mods, or have any plans to do so? That's what turne me off the first time around.

No mods at present for exactly the reason you describe. IP is on the way via PM.

Lemme know if you have any trouble logging in. Please let us know if logging in to the server works from an xbox platform. I have not heard one way or the other if it does.
