oooh...and you could have one with non-recoverable blocks...like snow or glass. easy to break and you don't get em back, so your supply of fort re-buildables is constantly depleting.

Or you could have a "referee" that runs around just picking up free floating destroyed blocks from both sides and tosses them away, to ensure dropping levels of re-build materials.

I was even thinking you could do a type where you start with a fort, but you enter the arena bare and need to make all your tools from materials available within the arena itself...like trees, rocks etc. You could have a team member assigned as an armorer during the fight that just constantly makes swords and armor for everybody.

This could get cool.

This.

we could even throw in a furnace, maybe have something cooking up during the fighting. I do not think fistfights are even possible, so we might have to have someone making weapons. A food supply would be nice, a few pieces of bacon per contestant.

Yay, all my stuff has been returned to me by the great mod cervez. I've now built a double track all the way from my fortress to the cathedral. I've yet to build a second dispenser and boosters though, so it's not functioning yet, but we're not far away from d-day now.

Yep, thanks for all the bits back CF. I'll have to come and check out the arena...
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

np guys.

I'll admit I got a bit carried away and abused some mod powers when I was super drunk last night. I spawned myself some tree saplings since the leaf decay is still broken (which I think we decided was legit) but then I got carried away and re-planted huge sections of the map around the forts, like in front of Kanubis' place and across the canal from HO's and the little peninsula in front of Morgoth's.

It was amazingly fun reforesting a continent while drunk. I hope it's all popped up now.

I figure it was all for the best though, offsetting the carbon footprint of my computer by reforesting our minecraft server.

I will also try to hold back in the future...or at least find a way to de-mod myself when I'm drunk.

EDIT

Traveler or HO or Morgoth, one of you guys should get Jim to mod-ify you. You are all on more often than me and it would be good to have a third person kicking around to replace tools since apt has abandoned us completely.

Could do, I'm on at least once every day at the moment.

yea i attempted to come up with this plan for a place, and to make a long story short just the basic walls of the place would be 121,000 cobblestone then account for another 10-20k or so on all the stuff inside, so i'm not gonna attempt anymore grand project planning.

Successful territory grab. Nobody even saw me coming.

There is now an aqueduct leading from M S over to the neighboring mountain with a giant CF on top.

That mountain is MINE - MINE I TELL YOU.

It shall be the site of my new fort. And it will be cool.

Just dont ruin my railways underneath it!
They go from the little stone hut to the east of the mountains underneath it to the west.

Saw that, and wondered whose it was.

I will not touch it of course. I may branch the aqueduct over that way but that will run up and over your path to the lakeshore.

The only place I'm building is on the mountain.

I've just about finished the cart-station under the church. Annoyingly, I realised I've put a design flaw in my system that'll spread the minecarts unequally between the two stations' dispensers.

I've got to think of a way to alleviate that without having to redo the second station.

Was walking along morgoths railway to see how it was made, came across theses large holes from the surface down to and below the bedrock, one was straight in the way of the railway.

edit: And now i cant find it again.
reedit: Found it, but it have been refilled, but the tunnel i dug in the edges to be able to go around is still there:

happend to me now when i was riding my rails, fell throu the world and died in the void, Yay

Beta is here...

I can't seem to stay on for more than 6 seconds before losing the connection though. Also very laggy when theres other players around.

Apparently the regenerating tool bug has now been fixed, be warned!

Now, if I can stay in the game for long enough, I'll check it out..

EDIT. Nope, I can't. 5 seconds and I'm out again.

'Internal Exception. Java.net.socketexception:Software caused connection abort:recv failed'

Yep, it failed.

NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. I started the train on you so many many hours ago, and now I'm going to finish it. Die HO. Die. This is for last time, and this is for this game too. This is for all the people who died to your backstabbing, treacherous, "I sure don't know what's going on around here" filthy lying, deceitful ways. You son of a bitch. Whatever happens, this is justice. For me, this is justice. Vote HiddenOne Finally, I am at peace.

I can't see myself returning to Minecraft in the foreseeable future.

I read a couple of pages back that somebody had an idea for what my giant water dome project could be used for. You are welcome to use it for what ever you want.

It seems that dropping your tools and picking them sometimes now duplicates them instead!

Did you notice if the tracks got lost as a result?

Come back in a couple of days. The entire system should be working then I think.

Also, my diamond picks seem to get lost after using them on a single block of stone. I had to start using stone picks so that I could cut out a fairly limited area of stone.

Man, I'd almost be willing to suggest unlimited diamond picks for the people. I'd forgotten how useless stone is for that sort of thing.

WTF apt?

You were so hardcore! Any reason or just bored with it for the time being?

I must admit I'm slacking off a bit on my dedication to MC. The building is fun once in awhile, but it just isn't a challenge without being able to use hell and with no functioning monsters.

I'll still be on of course, just less.
