Seems to be running slighter better now as well - still getting block respawns (Notch has confirmed it's an issue anyway) but it doesn't seem quite as bad.

Hey, you've still got some bacon..
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

exactly. As long as there it bacon, the world is good.

Was bored and minecraft hungry while the server was down so i decided to try and mine some obsidian as I have still not crossed into hell. One misstep and I am drowned in lava. The screen goes red and I hear sssssssss. Not the sound of a creeper, mind, but the sound of everything in my inventory burning up after being ejected from my corpse.

I will never play that world again. This is like the 4th or 5th time for complete gear loss. I can't bring myself to do it again.

Started a new world though, and it is pretty dang fun. I gotta say though, my construction projects are decidedly small when I know there's nobody else who is going to see it. That's the joy of the MP server though I guess, incentive to go bigger and better cause others can see and comment on your work too.

Current MP server project is a huge cylindrical underwater biodome. Kinda like D'rek's project, except the cylinder is on its side. I thought of it after rearranging my bookshelf and finding a copy of RAMA, which is one of my favourite Scifi novels ever.

And I am grateful to have my gift of TNT. Despite the fact that it blows up ores, it is fun to have something to speed it along once in awhile.

Ah, is the TNT available? I'll be on later, is Apt the TNT dispenser, or Jim?

I think the consensus was 2 stacks to last you until whenever you can make your own.

Apt is the dispenser. Or jim, since they are the 2 admins at the moment.

@DK
I know how you feel, somewhat. The same thing happened to my boat early in it's construction, but luckily i still had some part of the bottom in tact after the fire ravaged my work (the bottom was submerged in water). I just plugged the holes, put out the fire, and took a break. a couple days later, went back at it. Though I have not seen your house of wonder, i am sure you can build one bigger and better than the last.

I have a brief announcement to make:

You may or may not be aware that I am currently digging a large, circular pit, 35 blocks in diameter. I want to dig this as deep as I can (leaving the floor if the pit a flat surface) so that I can then build a tower from the bottom.

I would be very grateful for any assistance you may want to give in digging this bad-boy and therefore, any resources you dig from this pit are yours to keep (think of it as a quarry for now).

I have a couple of requirements:

1. That you do NOT dig into the circumference of the pit -- please take care around the edges and make sure you are aware of where the edges actually are, and build a stack of sand or suchlike beneath you to climb out.

2. Try and keep the floor of the pit as flat as possible -- I've been digging away layer by layer so far and I find that this works well to keep things neat and tidy.

That's about it! Thanks for your potential help and if you don't know where I am in relation to everyone else (I know I don't have a clue) then I think Apt does, so ask him.

@ GP

Is your quarry located atop a diamond mine?

What are you going to do about lava, existing caves, etc?

How can I find you if YOU don't even know where you are??????

I, too, am lost in the wastelands, with only a fine set of diamond tools to keep me company.

Does anybody know if the boats are working properly yet?
HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. I started the train on you so many many hours ago, and now I'm going to finish it. Die HO. Die. This is for last time, and this is for this game too. This is for all the people who died to your backstabbing, treacherous, "I sure don't know what's going on around here" filthy lying, deceitful ways. You son of a bitch. Whatever happens, this is justice. For me, this is justice. Vote HiddenOne Finally, I am at peace.

I hadn't thought of those issues...

Lava, I reckon needsturning to obsidian/cobblestone and digging through.

Natural caves...if you find one of them, I suggest stop digging and let me know. I'll either build up the wall to separate the pit from the cave, or more likely, I'll mark out the circle again on the cave floor and continue on regardless -- it adds a bit of excitement to the pit and I could also have windows in my tower overlooking the cave.

Regarding finding me if even I don't know where I am, yeah, that could be an issue but I think Apt knows where I'm building as he's been there before. I'm also due south of the spawn point (I think, though it might actually be north, I'm not sure anymore) but that's all I know.

EDIT: No, I don't believe I'm on top of anything.

First pictures of the Church of Morgoth. Some minor alterations to be done still, but this should be the gist of it.

Morgoth! Is that first image facing north? If so, my pit is to the south and ever so slightly to the west. I wondered what those half built walls were when I came across them!

The Sept of Morgoth

V. Nice.

I gotta get a screen cap of my giant biodome cave up here. Even 3/4 finished it looks amazing. I think I'm going to run into lava pretty soon unfortunately. I fell into a cave with a lot of lava pools while excavating yesterday. Any pointers for clearing out deeper lava pools? Just fill it in with dirt is what I've done so far.

Right! On a hill just north of Kanubis's shack, I have placed a well-lit sign post to point you in the direction of my place. As it says, just follow the torches (shouldn't be a problem unless i've placed them too far apart, but you shouldn't have trouble spotting them). It'll lead you over some hills, past Morgoth's cathedral, along the coast a bit and eventually to a large pit with some nearby chests (which are mine; no looting the chests! xD).

It may be a little bit out the way, but if you need a lot of stone, coming and digging from my pit would make me very happy, as this is taking ages on my own.

On that note, also, I'd like to request some (as much as I'm allowed to be given) TNT please.
