I have TNT for the town!

Anyone have a good video on the 'redstone update' that happened recently? I don't think I've been on since then.

Heh, glad to see people are liking it :apt:

Bit of housekeeping:

Lizradus is now whitelisted, minecraft id wer0304der so don't panic if you see that id on.

I've moved (well, I hope I've moved) world spawn out to this latest area, should result in spawning somewhere between CF and me.
Edit 2: Nope, hasn't worked. Will try again shortly.

CF, this lot goes off at right angles to the direction of 0, 0 so no interference at all (apart from the nether where it wiped out the nether forts due to them being so far out.) I had considered cutting the distance between 0, 0 and the current site but too much chance of it affecting where people spawn when next logging in.

RLY, yes, old town in all its goodness is back on server. I need to sort out one chunk that got missed out that includes part of one of your railway lines so for now you'll need to get the train the long way - join your other line near Apts dome, down to my hole, across to your 0 line then down/across to town.

Edit: and I need to track down D'reks lava place and bring it over. Now repeat after me: No fire near the great tree, no water in the lava tower, no fire near the great tree, no water in the lava tower...

I was able to log on, my base is still there form the last time I played. Not the town, the time I played after that. No clue where that is in relation to where everyone is now, or where the town is now.

My laptop is giving me trouble. I want to put it on far render distance and it says I need 64 bit jave. I'm too stupid to make that ha[[en, it seems. I've tried in the past and couldn't get it to work.

the 64 bit java needs to be downloaded and installed manually. It's not like 32 bit with its fancy updater/installer.

Just google it, download and install. I can't recall exactly if you need to remove 32 bit first, but I don't think you do.

AFAIK the stuff on the old server (town and main areas) are all in the same locations relative to one another. Best way to get around is via the nether hub.

LAST NIGHT:

I was on cruising around the nether hub continuing my nostalgia trip when I came across the FIRST NETHER BASE. Like the one from the 'ween update 3 years ago when they first made the nether and we were just poking our heads out to explore it. It eventually sprawled to include a long hallway connecting a bunch of peoples' original bases and had 0,0 corresponding to Kanubis' floating island farm thing.

He was the first one online after the nether was included and made the first portal.

In other news, the azath monster spawner that Apt made us is still working like an absolute charm. Monsters are a bit smarter these days and don't fall off the cliffs as much, but you can still get a hefty supply of gunpowder, arrows, (not feathers anymore), rotten flesh and string if you sit in the collector for a few minutes.

You shouldn't need 64 bit java. I certainly don't have that on this old bug of a machine.

I want to start keeping a record of where important things are on the server, such as the old town, the azath tree, individual people's homesteads, etc. If people could start posting such things so they can be consolidated into one place, that would be great. It would be nice to have a directory.

I'm interested to see what you do with the interior of that submarine. Cramped quarters building can produce some neat stuff sometimes.

Looks good corv, but i was thinking also we should have just a list of places and their coordinates. The map won't be able to show far away places, and isn't as quick to read if you are just trying to see where to go to get somewhere. Why aren't you on there?

Does anybody remember how to get from the sky farm to the town? I'm lost on the old server. Blast from the past, I saw the old "sorry I ate your cake" sign.

Head back to Apts dome along the skybridge, before you get there you should see your railway connection tower, jump in and head East(?) towards my hole, transfer to your other line at my hole, then head East again, your first stop should be the town line.

I think so anyway, I will check - probably around the time I start listing co-ords

I haven't been able to find the dome yet. I have only a very vague memory of where everything was, due I'm sure toy habit of playing Minecraft while less than sober. Back to the hunt tonight though.

Writing down coordinates would be helpful.

So is the old server locked in the past version, never to generate the newer content? Is the new area we set up in in this old zone, or in a new one?
