Tutorial on making a minecart station, with cart dispensers, boosters, the works.

I'm going to take a page out of this book if and when the MP gets fixed.

Hey guys,

Sorry for not being on much - as you know I work long hours but I also have a load of RL shite going on at the moment such as selling my house (against my will).

But - good news - I am off next week.

So, I will check the lava and water chests tomorrow and next week I will get cartographer done. Plus upgrades to the server admin side of things.

In the meantime please PM me anything important.

;)

FAO Green Pig,

I hate to say this but when I use Windows to log into the server I get timed out after about 5 mins max. But when I use it from my |Linux partition I get no errors and can play away.

I thought I'd let you know in case you fancied a crack at it ;)

holy shit apt...all that since this morning?

I was on there for a few mins before work and completed that canal link, but holy chirst. Busy, busy apt.

When you going to start planting the trees on top of the azath to leaf it all in? Or are you leaving it bare like that?

EDIT...oh wait. I see what you're doing now, with the dirt lattice down below. Is the idea to chop out all the tree trunks afterward and keep the leaves alive through connection to the main chunk in the middle?

Trees are glitched a bit at the moment. When you start chopping in SP, leaves begin disappearing immediately. In SMP the leaves stay until you cut them from another mass of leaves that still has a trunk.

With an update, your azath could shrink a bit.

Maybe I'm not done with that project yet.

Just checking here. You are aware that the haloween patch is the 31th right? Will you have time to implement it there?

Couple of hours work. I already began the branches yesterday.

Yeah the plan is that the bottom trees, with the trunk cut away, will be the floor that I plant more trees on extending it all the way up to the sky ceiling and out over the forest.

As far as I have observed as long as there is just one log within a certain distance of the leaves they will remain floating in the sky indefinitely. They don't disappear or anything. The trick is that the leaves need the log to stay put, the can extend something like 7 leaves out from the log before they fail. But not only that it works in layers. So if your string of leaves extend, say 6 blocks out, and another string of leaves is lying on top of the 6th block then this top layer can extend another 6-7 blocks, etc.

When you fill the chests with lava and water, could you make some TNT for me too? Please? Pretty please?

Also, how exactly do you sell a house against your will?

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

Dumb stinking luck - dropped my diamond pickaxe to repair it while underground,

And I timed out.

When I logged back in, it was gone.

Coco, go and raid the cellar under my Fort (it's pretty easy to find.)

There's a spare diamond pick in one of the crates - help yourself.

@coco

ya, there's a pick, shovel and axe in my chest at moon spawn if you want.

Go ahead and take em. Same goes for anybody else that doesn't have those 3 items yet.

I have the opposite problem. I've gotten all of mine by dropping for repair and suddenly gaining a new one in my inventory.

mine and my accidental duplicates are all courtesy of Apt. I have yet to find a stinking diamond of my own in this map, and not for lack of trying for fucks sake.

@Tapper,

I still have no idea where you're at. I looked last night and followed some burning trees to the north around the azath and moon spawn and but found nothing but ocean. Are you out across the ocean too?

EDIT - Was also on for 15 min before work today. Apt is making a glorious expansion to the canal, in a tunnel under Jim's mountain leading back toward the lake. Looks sweet.

Nope, I am not. In fact, I can see the azath tree from my mountain top.
Someone found my place though, and left a Nefarias Bredd was here sign ;)

Just a heads up - Android has a great app for minecraft - just search the market for minecraft - I think its canary, its free and gives a full list of recipes and tips, also tells how to make traps etc. Gives links to lots of minecraft info sites as well. Tells when day and night are in a countdown type thing.

Havent had much time for my island, but hopefully I will get back on to check out everyones work soon.

Bent, I need a new project... how would you feel if I made an underground tunnel from my area to your island - it would emerge tastefully in an area of your choosing. I might even insanely attempt to make the whole thing out of glass in the middle of the sea. God knows I've got the sand and fuel to spare.

Sure. Put it where you want, as long as it isn't in the Mock's hold area. (Not that you would want to put it there nyway, as you'd have to dig up through a mountain, lol)

Glass lined tunnels under the sea aren't so bad if you keep em small. You can see mock's from your towers so it can't be all that far anyway.

Just make a, say, 2w by 3H row of dirt blocks then cover that in glass blocks, then start from 1 end and shovel out the dirt. You know, water physics would allow you to dig out the floor and it would fill in to the lowest row of glass blocks with water. Then you could travel it by boat, underwater!

Just sayin' cause its faster than walking at the moment. Later you could dry it up and put a minecart or something.

I'd advise at least 4 wide for a boat tunnel though, cause any skinnier and you won't be able to navigate without losing your boat all the time.
