Sure, I like that idea. No need to be too structured, I like the idea of an organic growth to the city too, and not necessarily confinement to a square lot. If we all agree to keep things in reason - say 50x50ish (I think the last town was 40x40) then that might be good. The only people playing now are people who kinda "get it", so we don't have to work so hard to enforce structure and reasonable-ness.

Mess, are you sure you went far away enough? I was thinking it might be a good idea to just tp to coordinates in the 20,000 range and make sure we're leagues from anything already generated so that we can experience all the new content.

We're certainly in new terrain, there's the old jagged edges to it marking the divide - remember the old vertical cliffs between versions? We have them again.

Something like 600odd blocks from old stuff at the moment, I have no problem with moving again though - I'll do some jumping around and see if I can't find somewhere. I'll be on for the next couple of hours probably

Ok I'm at the new location (thanks for the help Mess) and will start cultivating a little later.

cobblestone towers are what the doctor ordered, right?

Yes. Make all cobblestone towers as huge as possible please. I don't even want to see the terrain around town. In fact, if I don't see huge cobblestone towers on every street corner (preferably square and featureless), then I'm a flip out and delete the server.

Also, I have claimed the steep hill overlooking main street for my wizard house. There will be a commercial property at the base where Main Street meets the hill - CF's Ye Olde Magickey Shopppppeee

EDIT

I mean, I am going to set up my sun-blocking cobblestone tower on top of that hill. Not a wizard house....yes. that's right.

Also, if anybody has done any exploring in the environs, can you put up some signposts RE which direction to go to reach points of interest?

I think this go-round I'm going to concentrate on brewing. It's a side of the game I have not explored to date.

EDIT EDIT

Anybody know which direction our old locations are? I want to avoid exploring too much in that direction so I can see only new stuff.

Here's a quick shot of the new area. Red arrow points towards our old place CF (swim, cross desert/forest island, swim again.) The purple line is the intersection of old/new chunks

There's another plains area at 5000, 70, -10250 if you want to be a bit further out CF, 2.5 villages on the plains and some new terrains round it plus walking back is a loong way

Can someone remind me of the server IP address, please? Kinda getting back in to Minecraft again, and might pop by and build something weird.

Just need pigs and the animal farm is complete. Again, community. Take what you want and replenish as needed.

Oh, and for those curious, the pens are cobblestone fences to keep the animals in topped with carpet to allow you to hop right out (idea from a SethBling video)

If you go to Mess's coords that he mentions above, there is a torch trail to the town location. I think he's online right now and will be for a bit if you need a TP to the new area.

This afternoon, I'm going to start up a trade exchange at my store. I will be bartering with either valuables (eg gold) or stacks of needed goods ( stuff in my store or things like 64 bread). In return I'll be looking for valuables (a few nuggets for smaller purchases and a diamond, emerald, or gold ingot per stack manufactured goods like bricks) or stacks of raw materials (sand, clay, reeds, hides, meat, wood!, etc).

I know...those pesky Warlocks. Always feeling like they have to one-up the wizards.

gah...their crude, uneducated approach to the magical arts will get the lot of them killed one day!

HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. I started the train on you so many many hours ago, and now I'm going to finish it. Die HO. Die. This is for last time, and this is for this game too. This is for all the people who died to your backstabbing, treacherous, "I sure don't know what's going on around here" filthy lying, deceitful ways. You son of a bitch. Whatever happens, this is justice. For me, this is justice. Vote HiddenOne Finally, I am at peace.

Nice. The biggest mine I've ever seen is under our plains. After some time I got lucky and found a spawner. Inside were a few music discs, enchanted items, a few saddles, and horse armour. No more fishing for that damned saddle.
