New map is up and running, have put up a couple of shelters with benches etc, just going to try and jump to a slightly mouse orientated computer for some serious world starting.

I don't know if CF has PM'd the whitelist, most people on the list haven't been on a while anyway. I've changed the server banner so anyone logging in should see it.

So the goal for this weekend is simply to make it to endgame and kill the dragon? NOt sure how helpful I will be, but I'll come on a bit.

Seems this way with all servers. Can't even access my own.

Okay folks, normal server is running again.

I'd forgotten how much fun it can be to keep starting from scratch again - was building my 3rd base of the map, no op, nothing. Very refreshing. Now I need to inspire myself on the regular server I suppose.

I know, I want to but I'd go a way off and start again if I do that. With a new update looming sometime I want to wait till then to do it. Although I could move again I suppose...

If you guys are dropping all your gear, then heading out in a specific direction and establishing a defensible base-camp, can I come too? I'm perfectly willing to work on a communal defense/build project without using OP powers.

Or -> Are we doing a new map anytime soon? I see I missed the first one. How did it go? Did people have fun?

Next update is due out on the 1st if I remember correctly, if there's going to be much more exploration might I suggest we trim some chunks of unused but still there world out of the map and let them re-generate with new features? It'll be a long walk to find emeralds otherwise!

I agree with that mess. There is some far-ish out stuff like d'rek's place, and Darkwatch&co's base, but I know there are big sections to the south that were peripherally explored (to establish continent size ) by somebody and nobody has a base out there.

Alternately, we just go really far in the nether like we did on the last server and build a portal. That's probably the easiest solution overall, and a railroad link (or just a lit up path) would leave the option of returning easily.

Instead of a town this time we should collaboratively build a seriously epic castle with sweet redstone circuit defenses and have towers for private residences instead of plots in town. With the huge building height we could do some pretty cool architecture. It'll be a bit more crowded area-wise but height will more than make up for it. The mix of architectural styles, and the way folks blend them together will be interesting to see.

Want to try building someplace interesting too? Like a mountain biome or Taiga?

I feel like we should just build wherever we end up. Go like a full day in one direction, lining the way with glass/stone and whatnot, then a portal. Before going through the portal you drop everything you have, and then the roman orgy castle building begins.

Should have the portal come out in the throne room, like in GotM. Thats right. I made a Malazan reference.

Every single building connected by enclosed walkways or walls. Towers and ramparts as far as the eye can see. Nothing but bones of skeles at our feet as we slaughter them with our secret weapon, THE SUN!

Do we want to do a new server for the new release? Brand new world for a week and see what we can accomplish?

I don't think we need a whole new server, it's enough to just go away a bit. I like the castle and towers idea.

Let's trim the existing world back to a compact area, allowing those far out to move all their goods to a warehouse in the town. Then trim off the rest of the world so a new one can generate. Then we can move off into a new central area to start the castle of epic proportions (I like that idea btw)

My reasoning is that I would prefer to not lose the resources. I can make a new cave to live in any old time, but my precious iron...
HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. I started the train on you so many many hours ago, and now I'm going to finish it. Die HO. Die. This is for last time, and this is for this game too. This is for all the people who died to your backstabbing, treacherous, "I sure don't know what's going on around here" filthy lying, deceitful ways. You son of a bitch. Whatever happens, this is justice. For me, this is justice. Vote HiddenOne Finally, I am at peace.
