The boat was unfinished, abandoned and the middle of it was wrecked by creepers last I saw anyway...

Possiblly lightning, as you say.

Anybody know whose it was? If somebody is upset possibly d'rek and I can workon restoring that chunk from an old backup.



Laid out the approximate dimensions of my treehouse last night. It's not anything at all yet, just a few corner posts...but I'm gearing up for some serious wood construction very soon.

I've had a roof go up in flame from lightning strike. Thankfully the main building was of stone and tall enough to keep the flames from the rest of the village.

I can get in contact and see if they care enough to have us try to restore it.

I can run one of the backups locally, take a look at it and rebuild it online without needing to do chunk editing?

The server is laggggggging right now badly. It's unplayable basically, but you can get on. Hopefully it gets better.

Anoyone care to suggest a cathedral plot? I've got a design for on, will need 4 plots in a square though - I'll get and mark some more plots out shortly

Sorry, I'm at work.. will be on later though I'm sure.

Lag was bad earlier.. I took down a load of scaffold, only to watch it all reappear when I was done.

Any Cathedral, will, I hope, be absolutely enormous. People tend to build small in Minecraft, but to do a cathedral justice it will have to be a monster.

Has the potential to be a great project though - a real landmark.

Traveller's boat is out by his place, not near the spawn. There is also a boat in the sea to the West past moonspawn that belongs to....um....hodor?. I don't think either of those was damaged.

@Cathedral

Why not put it west of town...ie take the west street that heads out between shiara and sammeh and wrap it around a 4-lot block. Cathedral in the middle.

It's be good to hear from potential neighbours before I pick a site - right next door to Sammeh and Shiara might be a bit in their faces, it is going to tower just a little. I'll PM them - might be sensible to let a plot inbetween them and where it gets built, parkland or something.

I've marked out a fair few more plots, mainly out in the desert but not put in full roads yet, given we don't have a massive number more regulars these could form the start of an industrial area - factories, slag heaps, that sort of stuff - it's not like there has been a great demand for desert plots so far... Also give the first subway station will be out that way it makes sense to have a zone change around there.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. I've just made an up to date version with the plots I added today. I've put a fence up round the potential site with torches all the way round it just to make it really obvious. Going to have to demolish a couple of big hills if anyone wants to give a hand once we're underway.

Kanubis, jump in. If you can get online in the next hour I can teleport you out to the town too.

So, where is the town if I'm starting from the spawn crater? I'm currently way out west, but will eventually want to grab a plot on the outskirts of town but don't want to be teleported there - I tend to like the walking around exploring aspect :).


Also, I just have to say I'm impressed with the size of the ocean when you head west of spawn. I crossed 2 large strips of ice, 2 other large expanses of water, passed epic chunk error cliffs, then navigated the minecraft version of archipelagos before finally finding a nice spot to stop. Considering the oceans I had to cross, I'm tempted to call this Lether, haha. I assume others have established themselves out this way, though.

You could walk South from where you are now - general locale of the town is somewhere in the region of X2700, Z1900. From the spawn it's quite a walk, you could get a train out though from RLY's station at 0,0 - to get there from the spawn go up the tower, pass the front of the wooden box, right at the lava ball, through the water dome and take my skybridge, take the higher offshoot to the right and follow down to the station. Alternatively follow my skybridge all the way to my pit and walk overland West and a tiny amount South from there for maybe a half a day.

You might be out in new territory, take a look at the map and check - put the server IP in your browser and take a look round.

Messremb, I never left after you escorted me there last time! I don't get to play much usually but I'm away on business next week which means I'll have my laptop and a lot of free time in the evenings!

I've had a look at your place and won't be doing any bizarre style-cramping shennanigans, just a nice little villa overlooking the sea.

I also considered asking If I could go to the end of the sand bank that stretches out to see from there and build a lighthouse at the end. I think lighthouses might be good if you use glowstone at the end. Just a thought, and happy to refrain from it if the other residents disagree :)
