Just a heads up for anyone who likes to use Doku's newer pack (the dark/light/high fantasy one) he has discontinued work on it, the last version includes a large portion of the Aether mod textures reworked.

You shouldn't run into any drama until the 1.8 Adventure update where you'll have to change to either a compilation pack or completely different pack, there's plenty of time to shop around.

Thanks for the warning.

And, Arse. I like that pack, it's great.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Am I the only one who likes the original state of the game? I even turn off the new lighting engine to get the blocky gradations.

Oooo a map. If you guys are using tectonicus maps, the rendered image will be roughly 20-25Gb (default settings) 3-4million files and hundreds of thousands of folders. I' ve rendered our map before and was able to compress and tweak to a size of about 10-12Gb. However i've never been able to get it working as a website in my spare time. I've tried messing around with a server I made from an old computer and have yet to get it working, not sure if it would even handle it. So if you guys have any luck with it , awesome saves me the time/ trouble.

I'm using Tectonicus yeah, best one I've found so far.

I've got the backup from June 30th rendered at 4.5GB and 11942 files, giving a pretty detailed view. I have since refined the settings and will run it on the latest backup. The last test world I ran rendered a map at size comparable to the level file itself so fingers crossed! (Hmm, currently 571MB!)

The render I'm currently uploading weighs in at 1.2GB - I've reduced colour depth, files minimised, cut down on a number of other factors after testing to get something manageable. 40000 files though so still a good level of detail. The file is accurate at about 1am UK time so hot off the press!

I think it's evidence of my boredom that what I've been doing recently when I get home is watching TV and strip-mining lavatubes of their sweet, sweet obsidian. And then I pack it all up into a box, and do nothing with it.

Server is up fine, I've just come off playing. Are you using the correct IP address?

Yes. It is running and folks have been on it all morning.

I would guess there is some problem with the connection on your end.

Nice work on the map! puts everything into perspective. Does it automatically update? Or is it a manual task that you have to painstakingly produce?

There are monsters walking around the azath...

edit: contained, but the back wall of the "dispenser" area has been blown up and needs to be repaired. Too many for me to handle at the moment.
