The finale was good. I was sure that we were going to meet a No. 7 who was Starbuck's dad and had been manipulating things behind the scenes, but I guess that was all a red herring. Interesting how they left quite a bit open to interpretation. I did get the whole arrive-in-Earth's-past ending though - I called that a long time ago.
Sad to see it go, but better to leave us wanting more than us leave tired of it (I'm looking at you, George Lucas).

OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

Just watched it. When the original series music came on, it made me cry! Otherwise, they went all LOTR with the 30mins worth of endings. I'm not really a fan of how they all went tribal. I would have kept a ship and a load of hardware secret until the primitive humans worshipped me, then I'd be God. I'd have waited until the Old Man died before putting my plan into action however, I'm not stupid.
Hera = Eres'al
In the end, I don't think it matters that I missed the first half of season 4.

yeah mez, 1st half of Season 4 was largely incoherent mumbo jumbo and talking to hybrids (which makes for an extremely boring scene by the way). There is some content in there that's important, but only for people following the story closely. In retrospect, from a "knowing what happened" perspective, you really didn't need episodes 1-10.

I thought the finale was superb. Unlike a lot of other people, I really did like the 'slow' bits at the end. It was quite moving IMO, and not at all too long. They wrapped it up very well, and at times I really felt like Adama, not wanting to finish his book because it's just too good. But I gave in :-/
Time to start the entire batch all over again. You know all of this has been seen before and will be seen again.
@Rodeo Check amazon, they have seasons 1-4 together at a decent price (34 pounds @ co.uk) so you might want to get that instead of buying them separately. Season 4.5 is still sold separately, though they also have a box with everything but that came at 88 pounds iirc (I just ordered the last two seasons, already having 1-3).
