I have been sadly neglecting the second series, as it's on at the same time as CSI and I keep forgetting to set the vcr and then missing the repeats on sky
but what I have seen of it has looked good, I like the fact that it is dark and grim, it gives it an edge over other scfi, I just hope it doesn't end up getting cancelled like all the other good scifi does these days..

I'm a big fan of the series, though I wish they would lean back towards the sci-fi aspect v. the romantic bs they keep throwing into the episodes to keep the youth audience. I think their CGI is awesome for a series - the only better is found on mega-million box office movies.

Got a raise so this month blew a little of it getting the first two seasons on DVD. Frakking awesome...can't wait for October 6 and Season 3!!!
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

I saw one episode, and was a bit annoyed that all the action was shown in a trailer like sequence at the beginning...I thought by itself it wasn't all that great, but I'm sure if you were watching them regularly it would have worked well.

Season 2 finale was fairly daring. Not afraid to shake things up, even though they could easily reset most points going fwd.
- Abyss, oh frak.

I just have to say that, thus far, Battlestar Galactica is the best sci-fi show in recent years. Absolutely love it.
Ron D. Moore is the god of science fiction series.
(Ever wondered why that particular ep of Star Trek: TNG or DS9 was better than usual? See the credits, and see Ron Moore's name.)

Agreed - if I could change one thing, it'd be to get rid of those stupid trailer thingies.

Grrrr, I still haven't seen any of it. Damn my lack of tv channels. Although I'm still dubious, I don't want to sully my pure young love for Starbuck.

Well, simply transfer that young love onto Templeton Peck from the A-Team and you're good to go!

SciFi is releasing a 10 mini-episode series called "The Resistance" in anticipation of the Season 3 premiere. The first two mini-eps are already released, check them out:

It looks pretty awesome to me... I think that the old series has been sucessfully transmogrified to the 21st century if you ask me (having been the viewing public for both and having been the dork who rented the old series on video...). Of course it's a soap opera in space. So was the old one.
Also, I don't have a TV either, I download the episodes for a small fee off the internet after each airing.

I've just finished watching the first season on DVD (yes, I'm behind, but I always am) and it was very good. My only complaint is that it is a little too serious - a little more humour wouldn't hurt. It did have a great ending to the season even if it was a cliffhanger. At the moment it's my second favourite TV series (just behind Firefly).
