The last DLC, Leilanas song takes place in Orlais from what I can tell? (It's about Leilanas past anyway) might be worth checking out.

I do hope they have more armor choices in this sequel. The first one was good, if you liked Massive plate armor or light Leather, but the medium and heavy was severely lacking (especially the medium!). That being said, the Armor of Diligence was easily my fave, as well as the Ancient Elven, excepting the Helm of course, as that was god awful ugly. For my warrior i always ending up going with the massive Effort set, despite the Juggernaut set being the best rated, as the Effort set just looked like what i imagined Croaker wearing in the Black Company series during the South campaigns(Widowmaker, i think? Or was it Lifetaker? The set Lady made for him and her anyhow....), albeit silver instead of black. I know....i'm a nerd!

One thing I hope though is that they don't do with DA2 like they did with ME2. That is, make it so only your protagonist can change armour.
I kinda like the part where you find bits of armour here and there that fill up your inventory.

I must say I like both models.
First one, you have total control over your party, like in DA:O. You get to equip them, spec them, everything.
Now, then there's the second model, where your influence over the party members is limited, and where different party members are kept quite unique... like in ME2, and in various ways also implemented in games like Final Fantasy games, or Planescape: Torment (Morte's teeth, Dak'kon's sword and circle thingy, Vhailor's armor, unique armors for Annah, Fall-from-grace, only tattoos for the Nameless One, no armor, special attacks and special spells for Ignus, Morte's litany, etc).
To be quite honest, I like the Torment model the most out of these. Flesh out these chars damn you, make them unique!

I never did play Planescape: Torment. I suppose I should though.
I see your point on the uniqueness of the NPCs, but I have to admit that I still prefer the ability to costumize my party as I like it.

They've announced a new dlc for DA:O. Witch Hunt, which is essentially your character hunting down Morrigan a year after the end of DA:O.

I'd have to agree with this really. Ok it is fun to handle your intire party for a little while, but for me it ends up like micro managment after a little while and is just tedious. The Planescape way of doing things is quite ok though, and as you said, it keeps unique characters unique.
Darn I need to go and replay that game.

Hmm the one where you get Shale? Or is there another one after that? Because the one where you get Shale is worth it yes. (Especially since it comes for free in new copies now) but if there's one after that I'm sorry I can't answer. :/
But I have to warn about getting the Dark Chronicles where you play the final assult as a darkspawn instead of the warden, I was extremely disappointed with it. Perhaps I was expecting to much from it, but it was a letdown.

No, I got the one with shale in the digital deluxe edition. It's called The Stone Prisoner. The one I'm talking about is one of the newer DLCs and is called Golems of Amgarrak.

I've been somewhat disappointed with Darkspawn Chronicles as well, though the Shriek was pretty fun to control. Also killing all your allies from the "normal" playthrough. And making Allistair fail - you can't really feel bad about that.
As for that DLC, no, I haven't tried the last 3 DLC yet. Leliana's Song, Golems of Amgarrak and Witch Hunt await.

Killing Alistair is awesome.. I REALLY don't like him at all... But yes, Darkspawn chronicles could have been amazing, but it would have probably needed it's own separate expansion to reach up to my expectations.
I havn't really tried the atest DLC's, after a few play throughs I decided to put the game away for now. ^^;

Well, the stone prisoner and wardens keep are pretty good and I thought that Return to Ostagar wasn't half bad. But Witch Hunt was simply useless, a waste of money and time
