I read in the newspaper today that Pepe Reina is considering a move to Man Uts when Van Der Sar retires in May... I can't find it on the BBC website though...

I read that in the summer, somewhere. There was a rumour going round here in the dutch press that our national goalie Maarten Stekelenburg (currently at Ajax Amsterdam) would be in the picture.

Reina has a five year contract left... if ManU is really in dire straits financially, the rumoured transfer fee of around 20 million euros may scare you guys off.

Reina absolutely makes sense for United. The last time they had a world-class keeper who retired, it took them 6 or 7 years to find a suitable replacement. Fegie will do anything to avoid the Barthez/Carroll/Taibi/Bosnich farce again.

The reason Reina would be a better choice than Neuer, De Gea, Lloris etc? Simply he has proved himself in the premiership. The others all play in leagues where the most important facet of their game is shot-stopping. In the premiership, that skill sits behind being able to command the box, dominating crosses, communicating with the defenders. You need the stopping-a-goal skills too, but you can't be successful with them on their own. Not to say they others don't have those skills, but it's certainly more of a risk than someone like Reina, or possibly a return for Tim Howard.

The BBC site had it as part of their 'Gossip' feed at one point. So, not corroborated, and I really hope we (Liverpool) don't let him go. He's been one of our best players ever since he arrived as the number 1. I actually can't remember who our #1 was before him (Dudek?). He's always been cited as one of those solid spine players in the team. If he goes, we'd only have Brad Jones in the first team squad, and he's very much a work in progress.

Not to mention, he's only 28 and can play at his top level for the next five years at the least.

He needs to do a bit more than that. Playing well for a full game would be a start. I love Rooney as much as the next guy, but he's had a shocker all season and needs to sort his head out. If he hadn't scored that goal at the weekend, Hernandez should have been looking to make a few starts.

Looking forward to the Spurs game tonight (though we're going out so I have to V+ it). I honestly have no idea how that's going to go.

Bale out, Van der Vaart doubtful, Modric very doubtful, I'm not going to hold out too much hope... More luck for the return leg hopefully. Oh why couldn't we have drawn Copenhagen in this round?

Well as I write this it's only 13 minutes to go & its a goalless draw. I think having a draw will be a good result and hopefully you will have some of your best players back for home advantage... Course if you got an away goal that would help too.

And it wasn't just a lucky win, either. Well, it was lucky, in that Ibrahimovic's goal could well have been allowed, but overall, I felt Spurs actually deserved the win. If these guys are dominating Serie A at the moment, I'm sure as hell glad I don't watch Football Italia anymore. Though I do miss James Richardson, he was funny.

FCK were busy annihilating Rosenborg 5-0 in a friendly last night. I agree that they're the underdogs by a stretch but if the same Chelsea turn up that failed to beat Fulham on Monday, they could get a shock.


I'm not an FCK fan by the way, but I've watched them enough to think that this season they'd embarrass some of the less impressive Premier League teams.

Delighted to see Spurs win, as i dislike AC Milan (hate is too strong a word). Was amused by Gattuso's actions at the end too. He's a very lucky boy that he did that to the 60 year old Joe Jordan. The player Joe Jordan would have destroyed him.
