Premier League '10-'11 Transfer Talk!

So, the first big(ish)-name move of the summer has been confirmed, Joe Cole snapped up by Liverpool on a free transfer and a reported £90,000/week four-year deal. Expensive? Definitely. Worth it? Possible... what do you think?
Any other fun rumours you've heard?

I've heard that he asked for the same wage as Gerrard, which is closer to 120,000 pounds a week. Also, the only way he'd move away from London would be a salary pimped out of the ass of J-Lo. 90,000 is too low.
That said: hehey, a signing! Now we only need a left winger, two new left backs, a cover for Johnson on the right, another striker, and two new central midfielders. Oh, we'll definitely win this season!

Cole has played left wing for half his career. I imagine they'll go for Cole Gerrard Kuyt all behind Torres, with two holding midfielders.

Sorry. This is the year when you fall out of europe. Everton goes for the CL spot and Hotspur, shitteeey and arse are on the Europa league-ones. To bad...

Er...."the" CL spot? So if Man U and Chelsea get two, and Everton get the other (HA! And pigs might fly), then what about the 4th? If Arsenal, City and the Spuds all go Europa league, then who's that in 4th, Villa? That's a fairly terrible prediction.

Blackpool, obviously!
Speaking of who, they're negotiating with Rob Hulse and Franny Jeffers... now that would be a terrifying strike partnership. Urrr

I have heard that Man Utd may sell Rooney and Vidic. I hope this is not true, on both accounts. This is just hearsay mind so I don't worry too much yet...

I hope it is, so I can laugh at you and your alcoholic manager.

I assume that would be because of the debt. Otherwise it would make no sense at all.

90,000/w for Cole is too much (I have a big problem with the inflated salaries of players in any case). But, at least we can afford it, as Cole is a direct replacement for Benayoun, for whom we got 5m and who was on a similar wage (slightly lower, possibly). I hope there's a performance clause in his contract though.
It is perfectly monstrous the way people go about nowadays saying things against one, behind one's back, that are absolutely and entirely true.

then again, Fergie said that he still wont be using anything from the Ronaldo sale, hinting at restrictions from the board room. He'll have to splash out if he were to sell Rooney, I suppose, but the reality of debt is becoming more and more apparent at the worlds richest football club. Please forgive me if I snigger a bit.

I think the likelihood of Rooney being sold are very very slim. Vidic is another matter - Mourinho is calling him to Madrid and it sounds as if he is tempted by the idea. If United could squeeze £15-20million out of them I imagine they would be very happy.

Eduardo off to Shaktar, £6mil. Bit of a loss financially, but he was just never the same after that injury, poor sod. Quite frankly, he was dire for a lot of last season, missed some right sitters, and with Chamakh coming in and Vela being given the 11 shirt so likely to play more, plus us always playing one up top, he was never gonna start.
What's this Danny Wilson like then? Any good?
I'm quite optimistic for Liverpool's chances this season now. Not at winnign anything obviously, but they should definitely finish top 4 again with Roy in charge.
