I haven't seen him in action, but reports sound promising.
I'd like to see the print on the deal ie, how many matches and performance related stuff., see how much of a prospect they rate him.

Gerrards committed himself, hopefully Fernando will do the same.

Eduardo off to Shaktar, £6mil. Bit of a loss financially, but he was just never the same after that injury, poor sod. Quite frankly, he was dire for a lot of last season, missed some right sitters, and with Chamakh coming in and Vela being given the 11 shirt so likely to play more, plus us always playing one up top, he was never gonna start.

What's this Danny Wilson like then? Any good?

I'm quite optimistic for Liverpool's chances this season now. Not at winnign anything obviously, but they should definitely finish top 4 again with Roy in charge.

He's an 18 year old that got 24 starts for Rangers in the central defence last season. Granted, he first got the chance because of an injury to Madjid Bougherra, but everyone is raving over his talent. I'd rather we'd get more youth for some of the other positions on the field, as we've already covered the central defence with, first, Skretl and Agger, then Ayala and Kelly comming up. But fair enough, if he really is to be as good as everyone hopes, then better to get him for cheap while he's young than never to get him at all when he's fulfilled his potential.

Also, the Greeks are fucking mad. This is what met Albert Riera outside the airport when he landed in Athens to sign for Olympiacos. Albert fucking Riera!

Maybe I am a few days late with that comment, but I'd like to throw my two cents into the topic of Joe Cole. It's a great signing, and his salary is totally plausible. He's been signed from free transfer. Players who come to the club for free usually get more money, and J. Cole is totally worth it. Especially when You think about him as a replacement for Yossi Benayoun. C'mon, Cole is on totally different level than Benayoun - awesome deal for L'pool. One of the best in the last few years, however that's not that much of an achievement, considering they had Benitez as their manager :)

have they ever seen Riera in action?
I mean, granted I was excited about him at the start, he showed promise, but he was a flop and a total douchebag to boot.

Linked with Bridge, I'm a bit meh on this one, hes 30 for a start and I've never really seen too much from him

Bridge had potential, if he had ever had regular first-team football earlier in his career. But ever since he went on loan to fulham and then signed for city, he's obviously been way out of his depth. Don't understand what anyone sees in him any more...

Yeah his playing highlight in the last few years, would probably be the 'non-handshake'...

Maxi Rodriguez, one of the very few who preformed at an acceptable level last season (last half for him) is now about to be sold to Espanyol. I thought the idea behind a well run football club was to keep the good players and sell off the poor ones..?

Maxi may not be off. Was just ONE Spanish paper that reported it (and said Maxi did not want to leave, nor Liverpool to sell) Then the English press have just latched on to it and ran.
What ever happens, I just can't see 'pool having an impressive season, 2 threadbare quality wise with other teams surpassing them, despite my respect for 'Woy'.

Injury free its ok on paper.
But definately not enough depth. Masca wants out, sell him to fuck, steal ozil (ozel?) From under harrys nose and spend the rest on a left back and a holding mid

You more or less answered your own question here. Maxi's not brilliant, but he holds his own. And we certainly could do a lot worse for a squad player than an Argentine international. And we didn't buy him, he came on free transfere.

You think Ozil would cost less than Mascherano?
I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.

Hello all,

Do we want another fantasy league this year?? Let me know and ill sort it.

Oh and hello. Long time since ive been active n all that
"I think i was a bad person before. Before this time. I do not try to be good now but i am not bad. Perhaps if i try harder i may get a better hand dealt next time? But surely that makes it pointless? Perhaps i am good. Just good at being pointless. But that would make me bad. Bad at having a point. Ah…. I see now. I was nothing before, I am nothing now. I am bad purely because im pointless. "

spurs are bidding 12 million at the minute for ozil, mascha is valued circa 30 million, so I would expect some change if that happened.
its unlikely though, just saying what I would like.

regarding Maxi, ok so he was free, so was voronin and degen. And they were all shite.

International means nothing, Carra's an international, and theres no point saying he can cut it at the top, he has lost too much pace and has to resort now to dropping players, its going to cost us a penalty at a crucial stage sometime. Rodriguez is not good enough to be considered bench material, he's a bencher when the first XI has been on the piss for a month, too old, not a great touch, woeful finisher and an average at best passer. not a loss.

I have to disagree with you there. He's not great, I'll give you that. But he's also far from useless. He's basically another Kuyt, but perhaps not with the same work rate (though I've always insisted on Kuyt's work rate being overrated, so i guess that's not a huge negative). We can certainly do a lot better than Maxi, but until we have that player - which, to be fair, is unlikely to come this summer - I suggest we keep the ones we know (or should know) can do the job.

And Özil only has a year left on his contract, while Mascherano has two. Werder Bremen would have to sell now or get him to sign a new contract. Otherwise they'll loose out on quite a few millions.

Aruelio's back.
This makes me happy, not the best defensively, but crossing and set pieces are phenominal
