I said contrasting, not opposite. Because, essentially, I agree with you for the most part and I had those ideas in mind when I said that. But I don't agree that Rake is an Elder God because he's the first TA. I think he's an example of terrestrial humanoid "creationism" for lack of a better term. I think he's equivalent to the first Tel Akai or whatever, but of another world, basically. And of course he's a god too, but not in the same sense that he was an amorphous elemental blob of potential godship before humanoids began worshiping him, as with others. In a sense, all I'm basically saying is that Draconus and Osserc are fundamentally peers, while Rake "earned" his way to peerhood with them as few other terrestrial beings have.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

I really like this. Making me brain bleed here Worrywort, and in this case, that's good, as much as a bleeding brain can be considered a good thing, that is.

@ your spoiler, Osserc not Draconus. in BH I believe.
So, you're the historian who survived the Chain of Dogs.
Actually, I didn't.
It seems you stand alone.
It was ever thus.

Does Draconus have anything to do with the whole King of Night business (i.e. when Ereko gets the Deck of Dragons reading on Stratem and that card comes up) or is that just representing Ereko's fated meeting with Kallor?

King of Night is Draconus. Kallor has nothing to do with the House of Darkness, or with any House, except the House of Chains.
