A true Russian blue? Colour me jealous...
I'd name it Kitty, which was the nickname for Ekaterina Alexandrovna Shcherbatskaya in Anna Karenina :)

Or Tufty, as everyone before me supplied.

Call him Begemot or Behemoth.

That will ensure that he is bulletproof. :)

Cheers to anyone who gets the reference.

And I personally think Spite is an awesome name for a cat. I shall steal it for my owns.

Or Tufty.

Not Malazan related, but I named my cat Mandu. It makes me sad that very few people click the (admittedly weak) joke.

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

Surly's cool. Also that kitten is ~really~ looking at the camera and pondering how to eat the holder.

Errrm... I fail at names anyway, as all my dogs can attest. Mayen springs to mind :)

You should call it Greebo. I think he pretty much sums up all of cat kind for me.

It looks quite wintry, you could call it winter or Ice or something. Or Stormy since it's a cloudy grey.

A friend of mine did the same thing, and yes it is a "groaner"of a joke. :)

well obviously 'Abyss'.

...

What?

Oh, fine, go with 'Tufty'.

Otherwise, in the Malazan vein...
Kilava? Nah, too weird to explain to people. Tiam or Tiamat is good tho... there's a whole Babylonian many headed goddess of destruction thing for non-geeks. Actually, 'Sorry' is a really good cat name.

- Abyss, ...notes the cat's going to want to say that to you at least twelve times in the first two weeks.

Traveller (Mister) and Mentalist's (Toadkiller Cat) suggestions are the best. Go with one of them.

When I look at the (adorable!) pic I think "Smoke", and then I think of the wizard from The Black Company, and all that soul-riding stuff, and then I get a little creeped out at the thought of a cat's spirit wandering around the house at night while I'm asleep, but then I think I still really like the name anyway.
"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"

I would say Lazan. Then you can say "Don't mind my cat, it's just 'lazan' around"...

Sorry I'm an idiot. :)

Dust. Or steel. OR gun barrel, as in gun barrel blue, and you could call it gun or barrel.

I usually give kittehs two names, because why not? They can have two names. Also it should be an ancient Greek name followed by a name of a Brazilian football player.
How about Zeus Adriano? Or you can make up your own combination.

- Gem, also; all hail Abyss.
