I wish I was heading off on a great European odyssey...

I'm in Manchester (just moved here on Friday though, so don't expect me to act as a guide). But three days is fine, if you use it as a base to explore the area (including Liverpool, which is eminently reachable on a day-trip basis).
Wahey! Welcome to the world's greatest city. It's also really modest... whereabouts are you living?
But yes Centz, I'm sure you'll have no problem in manc, there's millions of us!

Good Bruges bar shout by Veng above. I spent quite a few hours (and euros) in that place on my 30th birthday trip.
Have fun Centz, I wish I was still in Manc to be able to meet you and show you the landmarks/watering holes. Looks like you have a good trip planned. Where in the Lake District are your grandparents?

I was messed up on our last night there and ended up buying a liter and a half of the beer and lugging it around for two weeks then bring it home... It was fantastic.. Wish I had bought two now..

How many fucking people do I have to hammer in order to get that across.

They are in a little town called Burton in Kendall... I think... I know it is near Kendall anyway.... if I don't come back with Kendall Mint Cake, my brother will cry
Where are you now Mezla... I could always hunt you down
I bought 1.5L of Cointreau last time I went overseas, myself and 5 others drank it plus death-by-evil-korean-spirit-alcohol in one night in Kyoto.... never ever again!

I'm pretty central, near Urbis and Victoria Station, 5 mins from Harvey Nicks

It is perfectly monstrous the way people go about nowadays saying things against one, behind one's back, that are absolutely and entirely true.

I have my car confirmed for England now... much cheaper than I was expecting
I'll be able to update my dates for beyond Berlin later in September when I have my bus timetables. Currently I am trying to decide if I want to go to Poland or not

Yes you do.

And I agree with Venge – if you're already in Brussels, don’t miss the opportunity to go to Bruges and maybe Ghent. It’s just about 1 - 1 1/2 hours by train, the ticket is cheap (I think I paid 7 Euro or something recently) and you really won't be disappointed.
The problem with people who have no vices is that generally you can be pretty sure they're going to have some pretty annoying virtues.

I know the petrol prices
but still, when one saves $300 on the car hire, it is still a $300 saving.... that can just be spent on the petrol

Woo 3 weeks to go
Any Brit's want to show my some local pubs while I am there?
Last time I was in the UK I wasn't allowed to drink... so I have never been out drinking over there! I have an international sim card now so if anyone is interested in catch up I can PM my mobile and email to you and we can sort something out

I believe I could get a train to Cardiff when you're there pretty easily, assuming things hold together on the income side of things.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

I second the Cardiff idea, many Canadians (3) have enjoyed their time there... I might even be able to get Masan's saddle out from under the thumb for an evening again...

You're going to be in Amsterdam during the closing days of the Amsterdam Dance Event, which means the city will be flooded with dancefreaks and cokeheads (ofyen the same). I'll be visiting a couple of dj-sets during that time, it will depend on a friend of mine who will try and arrange tickets.
Can try and see what I can arrange, if you like.
